Staying over a use year?

If I barrow 2005 points and I check out on the first day of the new use year, does the last day use current or barrowed points? I have booked a vacation over the use year and noticed my barrowed points seem to be one night short, although the total vacation is correct. I verified the numner of barrowed points with the CM and she gave me a number that was one night short of my calculation. Thanks:confused:

As an example, if you checkout on October 1, that night is counted as September 30th. So if you have an October use year, that night would not be in your next use year. You would have to stay the night of Oct 1 and checkout Oct 2 for it to be in the next use year.

I don't know if I want to call and check it again. I would like to keep the 12 point variance in the "current" year in case I have to cancel any of the trip. Going at the end of ones use year, on barrowed points, can be a good way to lose points since you don't have time to reschedule.

just wanted to give another example:

if you have a Feb UY, and you were staying 4 nights in 2005, Jan 30th - Feb 3rd, this is what would happen:

1/30/05 uses points that are in your Feb 2004 UY
1/31/05 uses points that are in your Feb 2004 UY
2/1/05 uses points that are in your Feb 2005 UY
2/2/05 uses points that are in your Feb 2005 UY

now i know it gets a bit confusing when you're borrowing points. but [what-year-the-points-are-from] is different from [what-use-year-the-points-are-in]. so when you borrow 2005 points, those points may be originally from 2005, but they are being put into the 2004 Use Year.

also, remember to think of the last night of a stay as always the day before your check-out date. thus, if your check-out date is Feb 1st, that means your last night is Jan 31st.

(i hope this explanation isn't more confusing!)

True, but it can be a way to make a smaller contract go farther. You can actually go once every four years and not lose points if you play your cards right if you stay over the start of your use year. It can be a great way to stretch your points if needed. It is also a way to use points from more than one use year without borrowing.

As of Friday, my plans are to arrive 1/15/05 and depart on 2/5/05 with a use year of February and no points available for '04.
Using this scenario, I would think that a BCV Studio would require 254 barrowed points and 68 current (’05) points but the CM says that I have to barrow 242 points and use 80 from the then current ’05 use year. The total points are correct, I only have a question on the barrowed portion of her calculation.
It only makes a difference if I should have to cancel, which I hope it doesn’t happen. Who is correct?
Thanks again
