staying offsite- question on parking at resort for character meal

We have decided to stay off-site (originally was going to stay at Contemporary) and just wondering what we have to do to get to the character meal in Contemporary Resort. Can we drive and park at the hotel or do we have to park somewhere else and take a monorail. Is there visitor parking for the restaurants???? We are staying at Windsor Hills which is 2 miles away, can anyone recommend how far in advance we would have to leave our condo to make it for dinner (we would have a reservation of course).

You will drive to the Contemporary and let them know you have a reservation for CM's (I always carry my confirmations with me). They will give you a three hour parking pass to park at the Contemporary for your dinner.

It matters which gate you are two miles from (WDW is 47 square miles). In any case you leave at least45 minutes ahead of time as you need time to park and get to the restaurant and it never hurts to be early for an ADR.
