staying offsite..how do I get to HDDR?

We are going to the Hddr on Dec 4th and we are staying offsite. I am not all that familiar with the resorts onsite so I am not sure if I can drive right to Fort Wilderness or if I have to Park somewhere else and take the boat over!
We wont be at the parks that day...so if someone could tell me how to get to dinner it would be very much appreciated.( Hey you get to tell me where to go and how to get there!!! We dont get to do that very often )

You can drive through the Magic Kingdom plaza and tell them you are going to HDDR. Then, stay to the right and follow the signs to Fort Wilderness. You will park in their lot and take a bus to the back of the campground, where Pioneer Hall is located.
