Staying offsite? Express Pass HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

Hi, Maggie!!

If HALF of the WE is who I think it is.... :p ... You LUCKY GIRL!!!

Remember.. I was in USF with BARRY last week.... :( ... NOW you see how lucky you are???

JK, PIC... you know I love you.....

:teeth:

You can use the express passes with ANY entry ticket. It was just the one that came with the Kodak camera that was not allowed with the AP.

Have a great trip!

Thanks you guys! :) Unfortunately I get confused easily. :p

Yup -- he's the other half of the "we". :p But -- I won't let him read this thread. His head's big enough. ;)

And - you were a lucky gal to be there with Mr. Barry and your son, and they with you! I would love to tour the parks with your little guy someday! I thought I was going to get a chance next week. :( But -- I'm sure there will be a time! Positive! :bounce:

We'll be there on the 15th! I've never been to IOA before! Willy's looking forward to seeing everything new that he's been missing. We're both looking forward to Shrek! We just love that movie!

can you purchase this at the gate?/ We are planning on being there somewhere betwee Aug16-23. Do we have to purchase 20.00 for each member of our party??

My dd is going to IOA/US with her high school during Christmas Break-they are marching in the Capitol One Parade. They are getting their tickets through a company that specializes in these types of tours. Which should I purchase for her for less wait time: the Kodak camera deal (which I am not sure would be acceptable since the passes were bought as part of a package deal), or should I order the express passes for 20.00.?
ALso-how many rides can they ride on this 20.00 pass vs. the Kodak pass ? I want to make sure I have this right, before I share this with the other parents. Thanks a bunch!

I went onto the US wide site to order Express Passes for our trip in October/November but it wouldn't let me buy them. Will I have to wait till nearer the time?

Does anyone think we REALLY need these passes for late September/early October?

I know last year during mid-September I only used Fast Pass at WDW a couple of times and I really didn't need to because the lines weren't that long.

Okay, here is a question a little off of the subject but this thread has really confused me.

I am specifically staying at HRH in December (before Christmas) so I can have front of the line privleges. It seems like from this thread (if I am understanding correctly) that I could stay off-site cheaper and just buy an Express pass with my tickets or get one from Kodak and it would give me bascially the same benefits as FOTL??? If this is correct, why would anyone pay to stay on-site anymore and won't the FOTL lines start to get just as big as the regular lines with all of the express pass users and the guests from the 3 on-site resorts?

I'm confused :) thanks, Marley

 I went out and bought 4 of those stupid camera's to get the express passes. Got home and started reading the card, they expire in Feb, 04, and we're going in April. Man, I couldn't believe it.
BTW, one of my camera's didn't have the express pass in it. The outside box said there was one enclosed, but there wasn't. The cellephane bag the camera comes in was still closed, but the card was gone. Go figure!

Pat, Contact me via e-mail and I will give you my mailing address so you can send me a self addressed stamped envelope and I will mail you them, no problem. I can't use them, it would make me happy to know that someone got some use out of them.

Hi all. We will be making our first trip to Universal in Oct. We are going on the Military pass. I am clueless about what these Express passes are. Would they be worthwhile for an Oct trip? We are probably looking at spending 2 days there. Any input is appreciated. Thanks.

Hi, Marley:

I hope I can UN confuse you....

The express pass you buy allows you to ride each applicable ride one time for the one park and the one day you buy them for.

The hotels allow you to go to the parks for whatever tickets you have and you get "FOTL" all day long for as many times as you want.

The biggest pull of the onsite hotels, IMHO, is the convenience. HRH is a five minute walk to Universal Studios, that alone is the price of the stay! You don't have to park in the million miles away parking lot, and walk a million miles to the park, the convenience can spoil you.

On the other hand, if you want the value, space and convenience of a offsite hotel, the express passes are a great alternative. Remember, each person must have their own, so if you're travelling with 4 people that's $80 (high season) or $40 (low season) PER park per day. Factor that in when you think of changing.

thanks Robin! You explained perfectly.

I finally understand :) We will definitely be keeping our HRH reservations.

Marley

I took the plunge tonight and bought Express Passes for my family (another surprise for them!).....can someone tell me how long it takes to get them in the mail please!
