Staying offsite and being treated like a 2nd class citizen

I don't know whether this is the right forum or not, but has anyone been treated abruptly or less than couteously because they were staying off-site? This happened to me today which didn't please me, but when I told the CM that I am staying at the CR our first night then going to our timeshare, she said, "but it doesn't say that in your reservation for the cruise." like I was making it up. She then proceeded to give me inaccurate information in a very curt manner like I was some peasant not worthy of her time. We have 9 people meeting at WDW because of me, and on Thanksgiving we have CRT, the Pirate Cruise, LTT, and MK fireworks cruise. I think we're spending quite enough money for her to be able to nicely answer a question without the "off-site guests are less-than" attitude. I'm not going to complain to Disney, because who knows what she'd had happen so far today. Although we should always get nice treatment from CM's, I understand people are not perfect. I just wanted to vent. Has anyone else run into this?

Must have been the same CM I talked to yesterday when I booked my Fantasmic package!

We are not staying off-site but at the All Stars Music and I found myself feeling alittle low with her "oh" after I gave my answer to that famous "what resort..." question.

It is true though, you would think that they would be happy with the fact that we are going to be spending $$$$ in Disney weither we have a $400 a night hotel on-site or off, its still not a cheap vacation!

I have never stayed oof site as of yet, travelitis, so can't relate, but did just want to let you know I can understand your dismay. I am sure it was an isolated incident, and, like you said, maybe just a bad day for the CM also. Hope your trip continues well and you guys have a ball.

Dan

I always reply that I've stayed in Disney before but this time I am staying with Family in Florida. It seems to work for me. :smooth:

I agree with Dan, I think the problem was with the person you spoke to.

It's amazing to me how people put such importance on certain things here on this Earth. How that makes you who you are, it's so sad to me.

I find myself pitying that type of person more than resenting them.

Oh, and BTW, I stay on and off and could care LESS what anyone thinks of it. ;)

That is the most intelligent thing I've read so far today.

Yes, I agree completely. Money and property are no measure of character. Your attitude toward them is.

Thanks for letting me vent. I can't unleash this on my dh who doesn't want to hear anything more about Disney. He's about 2 Disney conversations away from refusing to go. You folks are my only outlet.

Thanks, Blondie. It's one of the things I learned from my Mom and Dad, and probably the most important.

The minute we realize our priorities, it changes our lives!

Travelitis, I think we ALL have one person in our lives that has HAD it with all things Disney! :p

What makes you think that was the reason? Sometimes CMs can be curt, for any number of reasons.

This happens at upscale boutiques and department stores and I chuckle because I am shopping there and the rude snob is employed as a clerk so don't forget.......YOU ARE VACATIONING AT WDW.......THEY ARE WORKING THERE!
