Staying off-site Thanksgiving week - Still get FP?

Hi, I'm a WDW first-timer, still in research phase. It's tempting to stay off-site to save money. Will I have a prayer of getting fast passes 30 days out during Thanksgiving week? Thanks for your advice. Any strategies for making the most of a peak crowd week would be appreciated.

With FPs booked 30 days in advance, one day at a time, you still be able to find FPs for your visit. You'll have to be flexible as the availability for the prime times of the day with be decreased.
