Staying in the same room?

We have a one night reservation in Sept for a two bedroom lock off Savanna View at Kidani and then go to a one bedroom Savanna view at Kidani for 6 nights (we have family staying with us one night after our cruise). What are our chances of getting to stay in the same room and not having to change? I made the reservations online if that matters.

Your chances are very good. We have had the same scenario twice and were able to stay in the 1BR portion both times. Talk to the CM at check in and ask to speak to a manager if you have to. Unless you end up with a Handicapped Accessible villa, there should be no reason why you can't stay in the 1BR portion for the second part of your stay.

Depends on the resort, the room assigner and luck.

Have done before at OKW and SSR just ask at check in and day of second check in go down early and remind them.

Thanks! So I don't need to call MS, just remind them when we check in.

All MS can do is maybe add a note to your reservation, the room assigner may see it, maybe not.

The resort assigns the rooms, MS just makes reservations.

Not at all. It has nothing to do with the room assigner. You simply speak to someone at check in and it should be no problem. Automatically being assigned the same room does depend on the things you mentioned, but they can easily move things around, if necessary, at check in.

Nope, no need to call MS...but it never hurts. As the PP said, the room assigner may see it and set you up to stay in the same 1BR portion, but they also may not. Just talk to someone at check in and you should be all set.

I don't agree, this isn't always the case. To move things around, they have to shuffle the rooms already assigned. If it's early in the day, people haven't checked in yet and the room assigner may pull a room from someone else. Late in the day there may not be anything to pull from. The front desk CM goes to the room assigner in the back room to re-assign a room.

At BLT a couple of years ago we were told that they were not letting anyone change rooms at check in.

I would rather tell the OP that they may get to stay in their room rather that it shouldn't be a problem.

The OP will be arranging this before the check in day for the 1BR. portion. If that 1BR is not the one assigned to them they can easily change that. It won't affect anyone checking in that day. We have done this many times and it has never been an issue.

We were told that the room assigners try to do this whenever possible as it saves the Mousekeepers from having to clean a villa!! ;)

We moved from a 2bd to a studio at BWV earlier this month. I was expecting a new room, but when I went down to the front desk they said "It's standard policy not to move you." I was somewhat annoyed because there was no cleaning or even T&T. If I had known ahead, we would have stayed in the studio portion during the 2bd stay. We ended up calling housekeeping for towels and sheets.

While thats annoying, I'm glad to hear that. The family staying over the one night will have to studio bedroom part while we will keep our stuff in the 1 bedroom.

Please make sure that you note the reservation and talk to the front desk and don't take for granted that you will stay in the same room. While they may say it's policy and some have reported not having an issue, stuff does happen. The only constant is lack of consistency.
