Staying in Newport Beach.....How far?

We are staying close to the highway and airport in Newport Beach. We are driving 3 days to DL. Mapquest says it is 14 miles and should take 20 minutes. I'm wondering if that is realistic? I like to be at Rope Drop, so how long will it really take me??

Thats pretty accurate as long as you dont hit any monster traffic.

If you are doing rope drop that will mean early morning and a bit mroe traffic. Plus the time it takes to park - see "Hidden Time Losses When Using a Car At DLR" www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1381580

I would allow 30-40 minutes for the morning drive unless it is on a Sat or Sun.

I agree. Remember to account for time to park the car (which usually means waiting in a line at the structure to get through to actually parking), get from the car to the tram, and from the tram to the park.

Thank you all. So if I'm driving in on a Thursday and Friday morning and want to be at the gate by 9, I will plan on leaving hotel by 7:30am. This would not be a problem for us, we are morning people. Does that sound right to you? What about a Saturday morning with less traffic but I want to do MM? Would 7am be early enough?

That should definitely be more than enough time. I am always of the opinion that it's better to be a little early than late.
