Staying in FL after CP/PI

Has anyone here stayed in the area after their CP, or are you planning to? I love it down here and want to stay in the area before transferring to a school down here, but I have no idea where to begin! Any advice? (Other than not to? My grandparents are planning on retiring here within a year or two and I would want to be here anyway so they aren't alone.)

A TON of my friends have done this! They normally extended their program to give them more time, and talked with co workers and got an apartment together afterwards. I have a older women who could be my 3rd grammy...She's awesome and would let me live with her if I needed too...Maybe you'll find an older cast member who will help you out at first I'm not sure about this, but maybe the college program has someone you could talk too about it, or Disney itself?

Two of my really good friends from my last program did this. One moved to a nice complex in Clermont called Ashton Chase. Another one ended up moving in with her boyfriend. One finally got FT and the other is kind of bouncing around jobs, but they're both doing really well.

Thanks! Extending, I'm told, probably isn't likely in my role, because so many people want to and they only give a few, but I've talked to my leader about going PT or FT after. The whole, finding a roommate and apartment by August is the scary part.

You can always extend and transfer roles. Where are you now? Certain requests will almost automatically grant you an extension.

I'm in Photopass, no intention of leaving for anything else. I love what I do, that's one of the reasons I want to stay here, so I wouldn't want to transfer.

Granted I don't work photopass, but I have heard similar sentiments from those that do that it's hard to get extensions in the same role. If you do decide to stay down after your program ends, make sure you visit casting six weeks prior to the end of your program to see about getting part time/full time. It's almost guaranteed that you won't get full time right off the bat, but getting part time is much more likely. Just make sure you plan accordingly and budget! I stayed down after my college program ended, but transferred lines of business to merchandise and finally got full time after six months of waiting as part time.

thats what i hear too..i did photopass at DL two years ago and if we wanted to extend there, we had to transfer roles..a lot of people auditioned for character hosts tho that way they were still in entertainment

I did! I went FT 2 days after my last CP ended (and now work at the Great Movie Ride/MuppetVision 3D). Love still being in FL

Thanks! It's good to hear it's possible. I actually just saw someone go straight from seasonal to full time without getting stuck in part time limbo...the Fantasyland expansion is opening up a lot of positions, so I'm hopeful, but I'm also realistic about it.
