Hi all! my family (4 of us) will be staying at the FW Cabins in November of this year. This will be our 2nd trip to Disney but our first time to stay on site. We won't be renting a car becuase we don't plan to leave Disney property. We also are not sure if we need to rent a golf cart sicne most of our time will be spent in the parks. Any thoughts or suggestions? Do we need to rent a car? Does it take forever to get to the diff. parks? Do we need to rent a golf cart?
Any help is appreciated!
Pam

Need to...no, might find it easier yes. Disney transportation will get you anywhere you need to go, allow 45 min to get to a park or 1 hour to go from resort to resort. FW has internal buses that will get you to the main bus stops or the marina. Staying in the cabins will mean you are on the Purple line. The bus stop at your loop will have buses that say either Purple Settlement(Pioneer Hall and Marina) or Purple Outpost (overflow parking lot, reception outpost). When you check in you will get a map of the campground that will also tell you which park buses pick up at Settlement and which pick up at Outpost. If you are going to be at the parks all day you will be paying about $50.00 a day to have it sitting at a bus stop or the marina all day, at the end of a long day you will have to decide if that money is worth it to not have to wait for a bus back to your cabin.

We have never rent a golf cart and never miss it. The walks to busses etc arent bad. But then I'm the mean mom who made my 3 year old go to parks without a stroller! :lmao:

Purple Orange :confused: Never seen that one.:lmao:

Our rental car always sits and never moves. We mainly have one to get groceries or hit Disney Marketplace. I don't think we would miss it if we didn't have one. There are taxi/limo company's that pick you up at the airport and have a grocery stop included. (there is a company that also delivers groceries too). We do enjoy the golf cart. We take Disney transportation everywhere and the cart eliminates some travel time. Plus it is fun. Having said that, if I was on a budget, I would stay at the cabins without a car or a golf cart rather then staying at a cheaper place with a rental car.

To add to the above comment about the 3 year old walking....my son was is a stroller last time and he was so far away and near the ground that we couldn't even talk to him. Next time, he walks and if he gets tired then we get a stroller or leave the park.

Hope this helps.
