I switched our room from a one bedroom villa to a normal hotel room and having a bit of buyers remorse now but the old room is gone. I’ll be going with my 17 month old baby and never stayed in a normal hotel room with her before. How do people handle it with cold milk and naps. Also if she leaks out of her diaper how do I wash her cloths and the sheet around her pack n play mattress

There is laundry at the resorts -- we did it last trip!

It's weird staying in just one room but we did and it worked out well. We sat in the dark for naps or took a chair right outside and set with the door slightly open. Honestly at bedtime we were so tired as well, we put the kids to bed, sat on our bed or showered at night, and then were asleep early.

Is it easy to find the laundry areas at the resort? I’ve never used one before. My baby takes 3 hour naps so might just make sense to nap ourselves. Will probably be too hot midday to sit outside for that long. I am hoping she’ll sleep well because of the long days. She sleeps in her own room at night so I’m worried being in the same room with us will disrupt her sleep

going back to room did not work with our toddler grandson at that age. fell asleep on ride back to resort and woke up as soon as we stopped at resort. would not go back to sleep back at room. big difference traveling from park from just taking to room at home. screamed the whole 2 hours that we tried to rest. could hear him at end of hall. I was never blessed with one that would go back after falling asleep even at night that short 5 minute nap would have up until 2am

man, I HATED those 5 min naps when my kids were little. Mine both quit napping almost entirely by 2 but it was the worst when they'd fall asleep 5 mn from home then wake up as soon as I parked the car.

Depending on where your room is, there are some rooms that have a little area separate from the bathroom with a door. You could put her pack and play in there for naps and close the door. There are no windows so it should be fairly dark. If she doesn't drink cold milk (my grand daughter won't) you could buy a portable bottle warmer.

When we took my grand daughter at 5 months, we had a semi-suite at the Dolphin. Mom and Dad and the pack and play were in the bedroom, me in the living room. There was only a partial wall between the bedroom and living room, open on both sides of the wall. She slept in her own room at home but she is a good sleeper and had no problems sleeping in their room. They did have a noise machine (which drove Grandma crazy). She wasn't taking regular naps at time since she was so young she basically slept most of the time anyway. She just slept in her stroller. Lots of people will do the stroller nap, if the kid falls asleep either find a shady quiet place in the park or just walk around with her napping. We will be back again in Sept. and she will be 16 months old. They are staying at one of the All Stars and I'm doing a split between Swan and YC. I'm pretty sure during nap time on Epcot and HS days, I'll just take her back to my room to sleep. She has no problems sleeping with noise around her so I'll probably either read or watch UTube with head phones on. (or Grandma might get her nap time in). They just took lots of extra clothes for her and rinsed out her dirty ones at night and put them in a bag. She didn't wet the sheet so that wasn't a problem.

We have only stayed at the Dolphin with a balcony and in a Fort Wilderness cabin, so we had spaces to hang out while he slept. He’s slept in his own room since he was 3 months old and thankfully didn’t have any problems being in the same room as us while we slept. We did have to leave the room while he fell asleep though, hence the balcony and living room of the cabin. He sleeps with white noise so it kept him from being woken up when we came back inside and moved around the room. We did keep the lights as dark as possible, though. Phone flashlights and screens came in handy. :P

Mine wouldn’t nap on trips so we just made early nights. My husband went to sleep when child did and I’d bring a reading light and read until tired. We always shared a room and just went with flow.

going back to the room to nap is a great idea. We did it for years when our kids were little. There was very little fussing from them

Echoing a previous poster...we would usually put the pack and play in the area just outside of the bathroom (typically behind a curtain)

We did 7 nights in a single room at POR with 4 kids under the age of 7 on our last trip and it was fine!

We have three kids and always stay in one room. At Disney they’ve always been so tired that sleep was never an issue, and they usually napped in the stroller. I always brought a foam foldable mattress with bed cover and sheet with me for them to sleep more comfortably in the pack n play, and a portable white noise machine that we also use at home. If your child has a lovey or blankie don’t forget that too! Try replicate the home sleep routine. In terms of heating up bottles, bring a large ceramic mug or measuring cup. Get hot water from the coffee maker, and sit the bottle in the hot water for 1-4 minutes until it’s the temperature you need. Or get shelf stable single serving milks and they’ll already be at room temperature.

For laundry, you can see what machines are available through the laundry view website or app, and set a timer to alert you when yours is done. https://www.laundryview.com/selectProperty?propertyList=disneyworld

We are staying at the contemporary so we will have the balcony, but it’s end of May so probably be really hot out. I’m thinking of bringing our iPad and listening with AirPods. My baby even at 17 months still does a pretty solid 3 hour nap from 12-3. I’m thinking of trying out having her nap in her stroller, but it’ll be her first time in the parks so it might be too much action for her to fall asleep.

It's a crapshoot. My kid has fallen asleep in his stroller at Disney with no prompting, but there have also been times I had to walk him around for 30 minutes with the canopy down and white noise playing in order to get him to fall asleep.

When my daughter was younger it was very challenging getting her to fall asleep in a hotel room. However she would sleep in her stroller anywhere anytime regardless of what was going on. She's now a teen and STILL doesn't sleep well in a hotel room.

My oldest and youngest were good with napping, anytime, anywhere, alone or in a crowd. My middle daughter, on the other hand, was a total nightmare. She would always fight sleep, no matter what we did or where we were, even at home in her own bed. I’d say if your baby is usually a pretty solid napper, she’ll probably go down fairly easy there as well.

I was blessed with good nappers. We would watch something on our iPad or read on the kindle DH might do some work emails. We also took turns each with a day to go and do something while the other stayed in the room. I have a great memory of staying at the poly taking the monorail to MK riding big thunder mountain, watching the afternoon parade, and shopping monorail back and everyone was still napping! PS I miss nap time 9 years old and always on the go!

that’s a good idea having one of us go out and do something since her naps are so long. That someone will probably be me lol. My husband likes to nap just like my baby I haven’t napped since I was a baby it’ll be some nice downtime

I just returned from a trip with a 20 month old.

Neither of my kids drank milk, so I didn't have that problem. We packed take and toss sippies and just used water/apple juice.

While my 20 month old naps at home for up to 2ish hours (daycare has a set naptime, so I think the most she can nap in a day is 2.5 hours), she RARELY napped in the past week. Maybe a quick stroller nap here or there but nothing like her epic naps in the real world. And shockingly she slept through the night most nights whereas at home she wakes pretty regularly, her older sister can sleep through anything but a leaf makes a noise in the woods and this one is usually awake. She slept through the boat horns from the Poly every night.

Her normal bedtime is around 6/630 but she was up until 830 most nights and I can't remember the last time her diaper leaked (she did have a slight blowout while there, i just threw the pants away)

I want to get my baby off bottles but she’s still really dependent on them before bedtime and drinks 8oz of milk right before falling asleep. She doesn’t always leak but has super full diapers by the time she wakes up. But unlikely we’ll make it a week without a leak on the trip. I’m hoping with all the new stuff and excitement it’ll help her sleep well.
