Staying dry on wet rides - How?

Ponchos help on Kali, but you can still get soaked. We went twice. First time stayed dry in our ponchos. Second time, we went downthe big slope backwards, wave splashed up and b/c ponchos are loose around the neck a huge amount of water went down our fronts under the poncho. Still fun but we were glad most of our stuff and a change of shirts were in the lockers.

I bring a white kitchen garbage bag for my backpack. keeps it dry every time.

As for me, well, I always get wet even when I try the poncho route so now I don't bother.

I usually toss an extra bra, shorts and underwear in a ziplock bag for the days I'm doing water rides. My shirts tend to dry fast but not anything else.

I think it will be well hot enough for you to enjoy being wet! Its half the fun, but I intentionally wear sandals and cotton poplin sundresses or those quick dry skirts so I dry fast! Especially at AK I thought you washed at Kali and went to Triceratops Spin to dry:)

Wear a wet suit....with goggles and flippers. Sure, you'll get some odd looks, but you'll stay dry!

:thumbsup2

We rode Kali with Ponchos. Useless as the water came from under us and soaked us to the bone. Only 3 of us got wet out of 7 of us. It was not pleasant.

If you have hair that goes crazy or flat when it gets wet I suggest wearing a shower cap, lol! People will think you are crazy and your family will be embarrassed to be seen with you but at least you won't have to walk around with bad hair the rest of the day!:rotfl:

I second the poster who said ponchos don't help on Kali. I used one once and it was totally pointless. The water just poured through every gap in the poncho ... down the neck, up the arms, everywhere. It was actually more uncomfortable being wet under the plastic than it would have been to be exposed to air circulating around me. We've ridden plenty times with others who have worn ponchos and complained about the same.

With the water canons turned off at Splash, the only wet ride left at the 4 WDW theme parks is Kali, and I just don't understand why anyone would get on Kali if they didn't want to get wet. That is the whole point of that ride.

Like a salad! :rotfl:

Hahaha this is funny.

So basically ponchos for Splash but Kali I don't have a chance! Bring extra clothes to change, water shoes or stay wet all day ! :) got it!

I might bring extra shorts and definitely extra clothes for my girls.

Thank you!

On splash I think as long as you keep your feet off of the ground you'll be ok. Kali you get drenched and I don't see how even a poncho would help. The thing in the middle doesn't do much to keep your stuff dry either. My only suggestion is to bring a change of clothes and some flip flops (we take a stroller so this isn't a problem but someone who doesn't might not want to carry all this around). If you don't want to carry everything around just save the ride for the end of the day. The bus ride back isn't fun but it's fast and then you can get back and change. This is what we did last time since I didn't think to bring a change of clothes. We waited till the end of the day and were able to ride it multiple times without getting off.

On Kali, I found the best way to ride was after the raft leaves the station, take everything off and put it in a plastic bag. All my clothes stayed dry.. granted, I was only able to do it once.... :rotfl2:

I have never gotten very wet on splash. The driest seat is the back left. I wouldn't bother with a poncho unless sitting in the front. You can pick- just tell the CM you want the back.

I won't ride Kali because I hear it is very short and VERY WET! No thanks! We reserve those type of rides for waterparks!

I think Kali had lockers by the entrance that are free. There is a time limit.
