Staying at Riverside : Show me pics, get me excited!!

Does anybody have any new pics? :confused3 I just booked with the 40% code and I am so excited!! :yay:

It seems like CBR and CSR are the " Hot Resorts" right now. I guess because of their refurbs....But there has to be some POR lovers out there somewhere......

We loved POR! I would definitely recommend this resort. I am still working on getting my pictures organized...
The "make your own pasta" was great! Pool was fun, surrey bikes were...
interesting with a 9,6,4yo!:scared1: Though, we laughed the whole time! The kiddos enjoyed the pirate cruise. For our ten night trip, the buses were awesome except one 11 am "ish'' trip to EpCot. Mousekeeping was efficient, kids loved the towel animals:yay:
Now to work on the photos...

We have stayed at CSR twice and will never return to CSR. Our last trip was 14 nights at POR and it is now our favorite resort. We prefer it to the POLY.
We have booked it for next year Sept 19- Oct 3, 2009. We will be staying the first 2 nights at the GF and then transferring to POR.

I have quite a few pics taken from our trip last month in this set on Flickr:

ty all for the awsome pics... wewill be here so soon and i can not wait . we all love this resort.

I leave on Tuesday for a girls-only trip. Staying at POR. Even though I have stayed here many times before, I always get excited looking at the pictures. Thank you to all those who have posted on this thread. I can't wait! :cool1:

I am SO glad I ran across this thread. My DFi and I will be staying at POR for honeymoon and first trip ever to WDW May 17-22 :yay: . I had been reading other threads that had me a little nervous about staying here, but after seeing the pics I am getting so excited! Thanks for sharing all the lovely pics of POR.

We leave in 8 days (:cool1:  :yay: :cheer2: ) for our very first stay at POR. I'm enjoying seeing all these pictures...some of them are absolutely breathtaking!!!

I was there last week--great place! We were actually accidentally booked here (had intended to book FQ), but I was very happy with the "mistake"!

Main building with the lobby and all restaurants:

Our building, Acadian House in the Magnolia Bend section:

Room interior. Only complaint, pillows are very soft/squishy, so if you like firm pillows, you may want to bring your own.

Have fun!:goodvibes

Ahh, these beautiful Magnolia Bend rooms are more my style; I'm not a big fan of the Alligator Bayou quilts! :upsidedow But that is where we will be since we need the trundle bed for our 3rd child. It's doable!

When we heard the pool was going to be closed, we considered re-locating with added expense... but as I look at the pictures of this campus, I can't get over all this natural beauty! It's amazing!!

This thread has helped me get even more excited for our trip, thanks for the pics! I'm really looking forward to being at POR!

See you there!! ;)

Luckily there are five other pools, plus the big one at FQ. And the quiet pools are not super-quiet--there were certainly kids splashing and playing in them while I was there.

Could I ask if the folks who are going to POR imminently [not jealous, honest...] could maybe pop back here when they return to update us? Or the main POR FAQ Thread. Things like info on the main pool and/or possible Alligator Bayou pool closures, the Boatwright's breakfast situation, and especially whether Disney have temporarily closed some of the accommodation buildings during this quiet period (and which ones).

Many thanks, and have a great time!

Andre

We leave for POR in 2 days and will be there until the 14th....I'll try to come here and update when I get back. :)

This is a great thread! I have just sit and read the whole thing! We are going to Riverside for the first time in May abd this has got me so excited!

Have shown my DH all the pictures and he wants to stay in a mansion . . . does anyone know which ones are nearest to the food court?

Thanks!:thumbsup2

I think it's Magnolia Terrace and Oak Manor, but the difference would only be a couple minutes. Also, within those buildings, certain rooms would be much closer than others, so I'm not sure of the best room #s. The Unofficial Guide has listings of the most convenient rooms.
