Staying at PBH with a pet.....

We're considering staying at PBH on our next visit, since HRH is more expensive for our dates. We stayed at PBH prior to getting Molly :dog:. We've stayed with her at HRH & RPR, & wonder how PBH compares. How do they react to guest with pets? Where are the rooms, etc? Any info would be very much appreciated. TIA :)

PBH is the best for pets. Here's my page from last year.
Portofino Bay Hotel
We stayed, then went back in October for HHN. They allow pets on the upper level of the pool and the life guards come around and pet the dogs. The rooms are the biggest. The bathroom is huge, lots of space.

The hotel has two wings, an East wing, and a West wing. We've been on both sides. The pool is next to the West wing, so when you check in ask for that. We had a view of the pool from our room, but it was considered garden view on the 3rd floor. The west wing is also closer to the boat dock. So book a garden view room, then call before your visit and request a west wing pet room on the 3rd floor.

Molly girl is a well traveled doggie! I bet she will love PBH. Remember the beds are much higher may have to help her up! :rotfl: We always see well behaved fur babies at PBH when we visit and my husband is just itching to bring ours.:dogdance:

Thanks for the info. I'm glad to see they are baby girl friendly. ;) We love the Bay View rooms, but have never had a pool view room. How do they compare? Do you know if you can you get a free upgrade with Loew's Gold? We finally got there after so many visits. :cheer2: They don't usually give us credit for Florida resident rates. :headache: HRH has gotten very restrictive with their pet rooms. We still love staying there, but aren't crazy about the severe limitations they now impose.

Yeah, she's got the hotel thing down pat. She's so lazy it really doesn't matter where she is as long as she has a comfy place to snooze. Forget her getting on the bed. I had to gain momentum to jump on it myself. :rotfl: But once you get up there..... :cloud9: There must be more pets staying at PBH than the other 2 resorts. We always see a few at HRH, but we only saw one other pet at RPR. RPR's staff was fantastic with her too.

robvia,
I finally got a chance to look out all your pics. They were great! Thanks for sharing them. I bet that boy was in girl heaven. I was wondering why you always took Destiny to the kennel, until I got to the end of your report. Of course, she was a good girl. Molly usually whimpers for a minute or two, when we leave the room. I can't take it, so I walk ahead & my DH stays behind to make sure she stops. She settles down quickly & we never hear a peep from her on our way back to the room. I'm sure Destiny does just fine alone. :)

I'll have my DH & DS look at your pics. If we can get our DS onboard, we may stay at PBH again. I was surprised to see the dogs on the pool deck. I don't think that would happen at HRH, but we've never tried. Who knows?

BTW, using the body pillow in between the 2 girls is a good idea. We're considering taking one of our son's friends this time. Unfortunately, only having 2 beds is a problem for boys. Maybe, the pillow idea would work.
