I would really like to hear some suggestions on some good rooms and buildings at OKW. I am with my children and my parents, so I have both younger and older with me. A building or room that can accomodate those things would be great. Any suggestions on ideas to do there that are not the usual would be nice also. THANKS!!!

Old Key West is huge. We stayed there after we stayed at the Beach Club Villas. We were not expecting it to be so spread out. The only thing that I would recommend is a building near a bus stop (assuming you are taking Walt Disney transportation to and from the parks).

Will you have a car? I prefer the Turtle Pond area but it is far from the main area. I love the water views there (31, 37 & 43 were my favorites).

Also keep in mind that only 3 buildings have elevators - 62, 63, 64. So if your parents have difficulty with steps, you will want to request first floor (most buildings have 3 floors).

Ask on the DVC Planning Board. Someone there will answer all your questions.

We just returned from OKW. We were in bldg 62, which is very close to Hospitality House for check-in, bus stop, restaurant, main pool, gift shop, etc. We've also stayed in bldg 63, which is across the street. However, Hospitality House is the last bus stop leaving the resort for the parks and the last stop dropping off guests after returning from the parks.
I'd suggest requesting a building in the Peninsular Road area (bldgs 23-24-25-26). There is a bus stop there, and it's the second stop on the way back to the resort from the parks, so you don't have to ride around the whole resort before getting off. It's also a very short walk across the bridge to Hospitality House.
Are you planning on getting a one-bedroom or two-bedroom unit? Most of them will be on 2nd or 3rd floors and the views are better up there.

We won't have a car and we are staying in a 2 bedroom. I think the closer to the hospitality center the better.

You can take any bus to the Hospitality House. There are four bus stops beside the Hospitality House - Peninsular Road, South Point, Turtle Pond and Millers Road. To get back to your villa, take the Internal or DTD bus (same thing). The Internal bus always stops at HH first and last. Just make sure it hasn't already stopped at HH when you get on. The bus stops are easy walks from almost anywhere at the resort.
