We are staying at Sports hotel, because we are attending a Martial Arts festival and we got a great rate through the travel agent. But I am now worried, we are 2 adults, no kids and I have only heard negative things about this hotel. Could someone give me a room number to request, we prefer quiet upper level, need not be by a pool or parking lot. We just want to sleep in peace...There is noway to cancel and get our money back, it is too late. We need to make the best of it, and could use any comments that will guide us to a GREAT vacation.
I am asking for any Disney tips for staying at this property, getting to parks from here and any other info you can share. We are there October 26 - November 1...
Thanks in advance

I have not stayed at All Star Sports but I have stayed at ASMo. I'm not sure what "bad things" you heard about the Sports Resort but they probably are not true. People told me before my last trip that a lot of kids stay at the All Stars resorts but let me tell you, once we closed our door we couldn't hear ANYTHING! The resort was clean, Mousekeeping was excellent, the pool was wonderful, and the staff was very helpful. from what I have heard, all the All Star Resorts as great!

These are 2 different threads...don't know why the links look the same....also try going into the Trip Planning Forums and looking at the Disney Resort threads rather than here in the general Orlando Hotels.

We have always stay at ALL ASR's. Love it! You should have an open mind. Plus it's supposed to be a value resort, so DON'T compare it with the posh deluxe resorts. You'll be happier.. :)

We stayed at All Star Sports last December on the way back from a Disney cruise. It was our first visit to an All Star resort and I was pleasantly surprised. Our location was great, very close to the main pool and food. Beds were comfortable and the room was quiet. We are staying at Pop Century our next visit, but I would stay at All Star Sports again.

If you are worried about kids & noise, just do not stay in a room near the pools. Ask for a parking lot, 3rd floor room & you will be fine. If you can, see if you can stay at the AS-Music.. it is just next to the Sports. If you can, request the Country Music bldgs.. they are very quiet there...

PS... if you post this over on the Disney Resorts board, you will get more replys...

Will be there 8/01/06 thru 8/10/06 right next to the pool will let you know when we get back. :moped: :hourglass :dancer: :dancer: :dancer:

We have stayed at Sports 3 times and all 3 times were very quiet. We stasyed at Music once and thought it to be a little noisy and BIG. Ask for Touchdown Bldgs. This will put you near the main area but a bit away from the pools. Sprts has probably the best bus situation of all the AllStars. They pick up here first and drop off first most of the time. It is very clean, food court is good and aacmodations are nice and clean. We stay at WL a lot but I dont hesitate to stay at Sports so we can tack on a few days to our trip :thumbsup2

stayed at Sports over in the baseball area with I guess a woods view - you couldn't see the parking lot.

very, very quiet.

I which I had spend more time in the room - but Spicey got sick.

To all that answered my SOS call, thank you. I am ready for this adventure and am feeling soooo much better. We usually stay at POP, so this is a new for us. I thank you very much for the building FYI's, I plan on looking for that one away from the pool..

I stayed at ASSp for a one night add on I got at a GREAT rate on priceline in May....and BONUS!!! they put us in Surfin Inn (upgrade!!) We were on the bottome floor on the outide near the parking lot. It was fabulous. Very shady, secluded and well landscaped around the perimeter. Love the layout...very similar to ASMo. And everything was freshly painted, employees were helpul, grounds were prestine and manicured, people were subduded (lots of teens there for school trips but they were well behaved). We were only there for one night but I can tell you this...we would stay there again over ASMu ANY day of the week. At least everything is a short distance at ASSp (AsMu is designed sort of shotgun style so if you don't have a preferred room you have a heck of a hike) and you aren't the last to get on and off the bus like at ASMu. Everything there seemed new and shiney like POP...totally different from our remaining stay next door (ASMu was SO run down and insane with unchaparoned school kids!).

I'm a bit worried about our upcoming stay at ASMo b/c the pool will be closed. I've heard ppl have been having a hard time changing to POP and now I just realized I have another option...ASSp!! :thumbsup2

One time it was DH and I on an adults only trip. We wound up in an upper floor basketball room with a woods and very slight parking lot view. It was really quiet.

I stayed at AS sports in March when it was filled with CHEERLEADERS :cheer2: and softball/baseball players. It was so loud every where, EXCEPT where my room was. We were on the first floor in the very back of the tennis area where the rooms meet the woods. You definately do not want to be where there is a center court area in the middle of you. You want to be one of the wings that come off of the center areas. We did not have any noise and it was great. I was worried with all the :cheer2: cheerleading going on.

I've stayed there twice.I was that exhausted each night,I did sleep!!!
But yes,I have to say there was quite alot of noise till the early hours. There was alot of Brazilian teenagers running about all over the place and shouting, singing, dancing etc.

Take some ear plugs - you'll be fine!!

Enjoy your holiday,
Lynn
