I think we are switching to AK Villas for our trip:) I would love to hear what it is like there! Any fun things I should know about? How is the pool? Are there always animals to see? So excited about staying at AK:cloud9:

Jambo house or Kidani

studio, 1, 2 or 3 bedrooms?

Jambo house is in AKL and uses the same pool.

Kidani is newer - it has a playground type pool.

the villas at Kidani are larger (size) than the ones at Jambo House,

Why not try a split stay????
This Christmas we are doing our first split stay and it is at AoA and AKV-Kidani !!!!!!

You'd have to get a 2BR so sure if you can budget that I'd take that over AoA anyday! Full kitchen, more beds and space. Huge win in my book!

We are renting points through a friend that is a DVC member so I'm not really sure if it's Kidani or Jambo House, it just says AK Villas....It is a 2 bedroom though.

the information that I have from disney definitely says which - so ask your friend.

Kidani is probably the one.

It was designed as a DVC resort - so for a 1 or 2 bedroom it is the better choice.

the only problem with Kidani is the quick service is at Jambo house - now there was a van or shuttle that would take you to and back from Jambo house - if you need to eat over at Jambo house would suggest it.

you can order groceries from disney or wegoshop or few other places.

there are definitely animals - the problem - you may have to go look for them

both Kidani and Jambo house have big windows down its halls to make this easier for you.

early morning and dusk are the best times.

the lobby at Jambo house at night has storytelling, parades and other things.

you can use the pool at Kidani as well as JH.

In the evenings (9:00 to 9:30) at one of the savannah lookouts by the main pool at Jambo House you can put on a pair of night vision goggles to see the animals at night. That was pretty cool.

We are going next month in a dedicated 2 bedroom savannah view in Kidani. :goodvibes: We have stayed in both Kidani and Jambo prior. Love the lobby in Jambo and the bridge when we stayed there. Love Mara as they have really good food, some different items available also. It is super yummy!

Love the Kidani pool/play area! It's fantastic! Love the theme of the lobby, the 'parlour', where there are easy chairs, couches, etc to relax on. Love the viewing areas both places.

The only dislike, is that there is no quick service at Kidani. You can ride any bus from Kidani to Jambo, and a DTD bus back from Jambo to Kidani, but the only time we do that is if it is raining. Otherwise the walk isn't bad. I really feel they missed the boat not having a quick service lo ation however.

Have a wonderful time. It is beautiful and I am sure your family will like it as well as the pool area!! The bus system is wonderful here also. Never had a long wait.

I have stayed at both Kidani and Jambo and both are wonderful. Although there is no quick service at Kidani, you can order meals from the pool, plus you can walk over to Jambo in about 10 minutes, or you can also take the van. Lucky you, you will enjoy either location. I love AKL!!! the slide at Kidani is super fun.

I have only stayed at Kidani. My family really liked it there. The Kidani pool has a water area that is really great for smaller kids/toddlers, a whole section with no deep water, just lots of fun things to play and my kids love it! There is usually s'mores by the fireside at nights near the back of the pool area. I don't know about your kids, by mine would watch the animals all day if I would let them, and they really enjoyed listening to the guides talk about the animals as well as their home countries! Kidani also had arts and crafts for the kids most days. One day my daughter made animal shapes by gluing dyed eggshell pieces to a paper cutout, she was very proud of her giraffe. She made a necklace another day. Someone already mentioned the night-vision goggles. I imagine your family will have a wonderful time there. Watch out though, it's easy to get spoiled... :goodvibes
