Stayed at POP recently...

For me I like the theming at ASMO better. We also preferred the food court, it seemed less crowded and we liked the selections better. We certainly did not starve at Pop, just missed a couple of things at the ASMO food court! As far as buses, when we stayed at ASMO last October there was only one time we had to share buses. And that was coming back from MK around 11:00 a.m. mid week and even with sharing there was maybe 8 people total on that bus (and we were 4 of them). The rest of the time we had our own bus and the waits were less at ASMO. I think maybe our experience with Pop's bus service was unusual but I know it wasn't just us because other people who were there the same week we were in January posted about bus problems, especially coming back from MK. We ended up driving most of the time. Still, it wasn't awful, just a little slower than I would have expected for off season. In spite of its flaws, I still marvel at the Disney transporation system and how well it runs when you think about it. I do think the rooms at Pop have nicer amenities. Loved having the bigger tv, the dresser was nicer and the bathroom had a nice shelf above the sink. Also it was nice to have the shampoo but that soap is Ivory so we always bring our own anyway! The room of course was fresher because it was newer. I loved both resorts about the same and would stay either again!

but I really want to try one for myself sometime. My DS9 really wants to stay at ASMo---and I think he'll soon be the age when the theming there isn't as fun to him as it is now (maybe?!?!). But, I really, really like the furnishings in the rooms at POP MUCH better. I keep looking at the same online photos of the rooms at ASMo and wondering if I could stand the color scheme. Please say it's better-looking in reality compared to online pictures!

I never stayed at the All Stars, but me ane my family liked Pop better then the two moderates we stayed at. We are going back again this August and I told my wife that I was going to book CSR and she said I rather go back to Pop. She really liked it there and my daughter absolutely loved it.

It's not even about the money, I am willing to spend the extra for a moderate, but I found this resort was just so much fun and the atmosphere really worked for us. I would reccomend this resort to anyone.

Pop is great.

We thought it was nice, but I think we liked All Star Music better. What does everyone else think? What's your favorite Value Resort, and why? :flower:

I haven't stayed at a value, but if I had to pick one (I'd like to stay at them all at some point) I'd pick AS Movies first, just cause I like the picture on the disneyworld website. :)

The resort is not chaotic... it's just familiarizing yourself...that's all. When you check in and give you the map of the resort, you can see the direction where things are. You can't get lost. There is also a big map board, if I remember correctly near the pool.

I didn't have a problem with directions. I found the resort very easy to navigate. What I meant was that there were so many people everywhere you turned it felt very chaotic to me. We toured the grounds, lobby, and foodcourt to see if we would like to stay their in the future. It just didn't appeal to us because it was so busy, even in the off season.

Oh yes you can get lost! For the first 3 mornings, I took a different "scenic" route from the 90's building to the food court for my coffee :rotfl: :rotfl: But then again, I AM very "directionally challenged" - just ask DH!

We still had a great time and headed back in August

Although I've only stayed at Pop and ASMo, my preference is with Pop. Even though the rooms are the same size, the rooms at Pop 'felt' bigger, and there was more storage space. Plus, I liked the theming and overall layout of Pop better. I wouldn't hesitate to stay at either ASMo or Pop again!

We just got back today from 4 nights at POP, and LOVED it! Much better than any of the All Star Resorts, and the transportation was FAR better!

We were in the 70's building with the Country 8 Track Tape, right on the 1st floor corner near Everything Pop! Took us less than a minute to walk there! The pool was really nice, the staff very friendly and accomodating and the Mousekeeping was outstanding (better than we have had in some of the deluxes!) Maintainence was outstanding, too. Our DD's friend got sick in the bed around 1:30 in the morning on Monday Morning... huge mess!!! They brought all new linens, cleaned and flipped the mattress, cleaned the carpets, and were very sweet and had a great attitude about the whole thing.

I would MOST definitely stay there again!

:rotfl: Too funny! I guess it was so easy for us to find our room coz we always asked for the 60s bldg~Playdough. And it's a straight shot to the food court and to the bus stop.
