Has anyone stayed at the Staybridge Suites near DTD? I would love opinions!

We went in Nov.' 03. We had a 2 bed 2 bath and nice size fam room and small kitchen for an internet special of $99. Dad could nap while the kids watched tv or ate or hung out by the pool. Nice quiet pool area with laundry area near that. I was pleased with the laundry facilities. I could wash and the kids were right in front of me playing. We had a first floor near the pool. It was a bit noisy outside only on one night. I believe housekeeping came every few days. We didn't use the shuttle buses but the schedule they provided appeared that it would not be convenient for a family with small kids. The morning cont. breakfast was included....all starches. The fruit was gross and not fresh and the coffee always empty. No staff around to get more coffee in the carafes and to wipe up tables. Waffles and Omlettes could be bought for extra. You do need to allow extra time to drive through the Downtown Disney Area because all of those lights add extra time to your commute. Eventually we found some other way to go. Restaurants are nearby and convenient but we didn't walk it though. Construction was going on at the time in front of the hotel.

Now since then we have been to the Contemporary......loved it! And we stayed off-site at the Vistana in Dec. '04 and are headed back down in 2 weeks. Again 2 bed, 2 bath, fam room, kitchen. We like the location better to MK and we're willing to pay the extra $ to stay there than go back to Staybridge. Can't really explain why. Like the resort feeling and it was newer. We had stayed in the new Lakes section. Just know that we can afford to do that and would rather go to Vistana than Staybridge. But for the price that we paid for staybridge, it was big, comfortable and more than adequate....except for the food. If we needed to save a few bucks again, I'd go back.

Good luck and I'll answer any questions that you had.

Good luck Del :sunny:

I stayed at the Staybridge last December. We had a 2 bedroom trio suite. The room was clean and spacious, each bedroom had a TV plus one in the lounge, the kitchen was adequate for snacks, location was convenient to local restaurants and about a 5 minute drive to Downtown Disney, free breakfast was ok but nothing special. I liked it. Like the previous poster said I too prefer Vistana (especially Villages on I-Drive) as it is more luxurious but would stay at Staybridge again no problem.

Staybridge is very nice. Clean, plenty of space, handy kitchen, free breakfast..etc. Would stay there again anytime!

Thanks everyone. We are spending two nights there before going onsite.

WE just stayed at the Staybridge almost a month ago. I got a corp rate of 89.00 for a 1 bedroom that was plenty big. The breakfasts were fine (nothing amazing) the service was great and the location was wonderful. I would stay again.
