Stay, Play and Dine question

So if Disney offers S/P/D for February we definitely want to take advantage of it, but I do have a question. I read somewhere that if you're staying in a value(we'll be staying in ASMu) that you have to take the difference between the Quick Service Plan and the Disney Dining Plan if you want the DDP and then add that on to the cost of the children's QS. Then I read somewhere else that this isn't the case and you just pay the children's price of whichever one you choose.

Just curious which one is correct.

Thanks!

Would love to know the answer too!

I looked more into it and it appears you pay the difference between the two on top of the child's price, but I don't know if you pay the QS child's price or the TS. Every dollar counts so I'll let you know if I find anything else out.

When I looked into this in 2010, it was a $10 upgrade to go from adult QS to the regular. So does that mean (if my numbers are still accurate,) you pay the $20/ night for the child's dining and an extra $10/night for the upgrade? That's still a pretty sweet deal!

If my memory serves correctly the Stay, Play, & Dine offer has only been around for 2 years.

The discount "formula" Disney used each year was different. Nobody could figure out fully how the discount worked although many posted opinions here that seemed close. Disney won't discuss the actual percentages off with you if you call to ask. They indicated to me that it was a discount on your room and your tickets. They told others differently that it was a discount on dining and your room with full price tickets.

Regardless it saved money but wasn't as good as a "free dining" promo for us.

Last year we stayed value and upgraded our QS Dining to the TS plan and paid the full difference between the Adult plans for 2 adults and the full difference between the child plan for 1 child. There was no discount on the upgrade.

You pay the child price for the original dining plan and the difference between the adult prices for the upgrade.
