Stay fit on DCL

I'm going on the 12/5 cruise. Any suggestions on how to not get off the ship on 12/12 weighing 10 lbs heavier than I started?

I've booked a kayak excursion and love to be active. Any other tips on fun ways to work out on the ship?
 
When I was on the Wonder last May there was an organized 5K on Castaway Cay. It wasn't a race but was lead by a woman on the ship. No need to worry about what pace you need, even a slow jog is just fine. You even get a certificate.

There is also a free workout room on the ship that I used each day. The biggest thing to remember is that just because you can eat all you want doesn't mean you should. If you are bundling the DCL trip with some days in the park you can walk off some of the extra calories but every hour of walking will only burn 100 so you can't go overboard by 1,000 calories a day and expect not to gain a little.

While it is normal for most people to eat a little more when on vacation making sure to keep to something resembling a healthy diet isn't hard if you are conscious of it.
 
DW and I recently returned from a 10 day Panama Canal cruise. DW gained nothing and I came home 1lb. lighter. I ate 3 meals a day which I normally don't but they were healthy. Fruits, veggies, grains and protein.

We walked the deck morning and after dinner together. After waking at 4:00AM, I would walk and then jog for a total of 3 miles, walked all 6 interior stairwells, 10 decks, and then hit the fitness room on a stationary exerciser for an hour. I would then shower, have breakfast with DW and walk again.

We also did the 5K-On Deck For The Cure walk.

One evening I had 3 appetizers, a soup and a salad, my entree and part of DW's and 2 really bad desserts.

Eat healthy, exercise and enjoy.

BTW, we drank only water.

i did a water aerobics class one more, it was short but intense.

be sure to keep hydrated, plenty of water!
 

Take the stairs when possible. I'm cruising Dec. 6, and I hope to eat sensibly at meal times. I also plan to do the 5K run/walk at Castaway Cay.
