We plan on splitting our time between WDW and Universal in January. We have never stayed off-site before, but that is our plan this time. Any suggestions on where to stay? We are a family of four and would like a nice place without paying an arm and a leg.

My #1 suggestion would be Cypress Pointe #2 would be anything along the Palm Parkway area. This is pretty much right inbetween Disney & Universal with Sea World being in the middle of the 2. There is a back way from Palm Parkway that runs to Universal sometimes parrallel to I4 & does not have much traffic at all.

the SW area is in between WDW and US/IOA - so HGVC, Marriott's GV or CP or Hz, there are also several hotels.

tell me more - I have only gone to US/IOA on I4 or ID.

If you head straight up Palm Parkway it becomes Turkey Lake Road which runs right behind Universal. You make a right turn on to Hollywood Blvd and follow right into the Universal parking garage. It couldn't be easier!

You will get lower price at I-Drive hotels. I don't know how much are you willing to pay, but I say about $59.00 a night on a hotel at Sand Lake Road and International Drive area. I may say the Comfort Inn.

where is Palm Parkway in relationship to Cypress Pointe.

my map (and yes this year Kissimmee decided to promote only Kissimmee so it could definitely be wrong) - has it near the All Stars Resorts and AK than Cypress pointe?

HEY FIGMENT ! ! !

Hope you, your husband & the boys are doing well!!

spicey,
ok, coming out of Cypress Pointe Phase I take a left out of the parking lot, at the end of the road take a right (instead of left that takes you to Winn Dixie). take a left at the next stop sign, that is Palm Parkway/Turkey Lake Rd, this is the road that runs in front of West Gate (& at this point parrallel to I4), keep following it up & up, you will cross over Sand Lake road, pass a 7/11, pass a Big K shopping center & follow the road around till you hit a side entrance for Universal Studios (this intersection will be for a highschool on the left & Universal Resorts on the right) Cant miss it!

maybe a lower price (but not necessarily) but DEFINATELY TONS more traffic, I avoid I-Dr because the traffic to me is horrible!!

Hi, I believe there are two Palm Parkways...one in Kiss and one in LBV.

The one in LBV is a street a couple stop lights north of the Crossroads area off of the SR535. This st has a bunch of hotels on it and links up with Turkey Lake Road.

If I remember correctly Cypress Pointe is just past Palm Parkway by a block or two.

Last year, I stayed at CPGV, took the Palm Parkway Road and was at Sea World in minutes. Another day, took that road up to Sand Lake/Univ drive area.

Nice road with little traffic.

I did not know that Palm Parkway went any further than the Comfort Inn! thanks for the tip everyone. We are talking about the one in LBV near DTD right?

Yes. It heads all the way up, turns into Turkey Lake Road (at Central FL Parkway, which is the road to Sea World) and then runs right behind Universal. There's hardly ever any traffic on it either.

Hi Cinamin!

We're doing well and are heading down to Orlando for Thanksgiving. We're looking forward to it. When are you and your daughter heading down again?

Good to see you here.
