Given the recent abrupt, unscheduled early closing of Space Mountain for major refurbishing, the sense is Disneyland could quickly run into some major capacity problems (as early as this summer). That in turn has led to buzz about whether older mothballed attractions might be re-opened again to deal with that.
That in turn led to some particular discussion a week or two ago about the currently idled Submarine Voyage, specifically whether Disneyland management might be pushed into re-launching the Submarines as a quick-fix "capacity replacement."
The miceage website discusses that in brief detail, implying that recent activity in the "backlots" at Disneyland is indeed focused on pulling the "faded and decayed shows effects" of the submarine voyage out of storage.
Other than that, I haven't really seen any follow up since then, and given we are going to be at Disneyland in mid August, curious as to any current buzz on whether this attraction may actually re-open (and if so, how soon).
