This is very very random, but...

We have a chair that is like a velour polyester fabric. I am not sure if I am describing it accurately, but it is the soft fabric that when you brush your hand over it you can see it.

Anyways, it is sooo staticky. Everytime I sit in it and get up I am just full of electricity and get shocked when I touch something.

Does anything know how to get rid of this???

Thanks!!

It is due to low humidity in your house. You can use a humidifier to help.

I have heard that you can use the static guard stuff you spray on pantyhose but I would worry about a residue building up (maybe that's just me). Also, you can try rubbing a dryer sheet over it and see if that helps.

Rubbing a dyer sheet on it will do the trick.

Thanks, I guess that is what my christmas present will be! I am not surprised that it is dry in my house.
