What does DCL offer for families of five? We will have three adults and two children ages 5,7 Thanks

You have a choice of categories 1-4. 4 is the lowest category that sleeps 5 people.

If cost is an issue, it is often cheaper to get 2 adjoining staterooms in a lower category, but you have to price it both ways to be sure. If depends on your sailing date. The first 2 people in each stateroom pay the adult rate.

Catagories 1 to 3 are obviously very expensive. Catagory 4, your paying for a slightly larger verandah room, but others have pointed out that the verandah becomes practically useless once the bed for the fifth person is down for the night.

My personal opinion is that you will be much more happier if you try for two rooms some how. I don't remember for sure, but the last time this issue was discussed, the ball-park prices were that two inside staterooms were cheaper than a Catagory 4, that a Cat 6 (verandah) and Cat 11 (inside state-room) accross the hall from each other was about the same price as a Cat 4, and a pair of Cat 6 was about 25% more than one Cat 4.

I was in the same predictment as you and we opted to go with 2 staterooms in cat 10. We are doing a 4 nt cruise with 2 adults and a 4yr old in one room and 1 adult and a 8 yr old in another. The cost was much cheaper to do it that way. (and we priced it every way) We are paying with insurance 2600.00 and sailing in nov. We booked with expedia.com . good luck
