Verizon is down.

My daughters and friends were landing at Newark coming from London, fortunately H’s work phone isn’t Verizon, and the friends have AT&T, so H was able to pick them up at the airport easily. Crisis averted (we have Verizon).

I'm reading the outage is primarily in the south and east.
I'm in the midwest and all is normal.

It definitely hit the northeast, too. I'm in the most northeastern state and our Verizon work phones went down.

I'm on T-Mobile network and actually got a text from them late last night about the outage, just them telling me their service was fine but Verizon could be impacted trying to reach someone. My husband has Verizon but didn't notice anything (we're also in the midwest).

Perhaps it must have been a WiFi based text. WiFi texting still worked during the Verizon outage.

Supposedly they are going to issue $20 credits to those affected. Not sure if that is per line or account. One story stated something will eventually be available on their app.

yeah that was crazy. DH's phone at home was not affected , but mine was at work, and then didn't come back until I'd been at home a couple of hours. DD's phone in a nearby town was affected , but only for a short time. IT was like the Dark Ages! We are supposed to get the credit in the next 1 or 2 billing cycles.
