I use a tv on very quietly as white noise to sleep. At home I generally pick a streaming service and let it play. I know the TVs on board have basic cable and I believe I read you can watch movies on demand but are there tv shows and such too?

Worse comes to worst I’ll download a couple seasons of something onto my laptop but I was hoping to leave it home this trip.

TIA!

It's mostly Disney content. ABC, ESPN, Disney Channel. There are things like "Disney Music Videos" and "Mickey Shorts" that run on a loop but aren't TV channels per se. I think one is "Disney+ Showcase."

ABC is very limited due to International Broadcasting agreements. They have some diversity though with CNN, FOX NEWS, BBC, MSNBC in the mix.

To go off what others said, do not expect other channels (e.g. CBS is not a channel on the TV). I enjoy the Bridge View and the trip report channels that have cool information on the route and forecasts and they play Disney songs in the background!

There should be enough on to watch until you are drowsy and then leave on in the background for your white noise. We fall asleep to the tv as well and it wasn't an issue on our last cruise, which was also our first.

My last (and only) cruise was in 2012 and before I used white noise. Plus I was sharing a cabin with my parents and sleeping in the upper bunk on that one - I don’t think the tv was even turned on during that cruise lol.

Lots of Disney movies available and not just kid ones. I've fallen asleep with movies playing, and when I woke up, that movie's description screen was on with background music playing. The TV's main screen also has background music playing.

Sounds perfect. A Marvel movie is basically the same length as 3 episodes of something on Netflix so that usually is enough to get me into sleep. When my husband’s snoring inevitably wakes me up I’ll just start it over or pick a new one…

This week on a Bahamian cruise, the ABC channel was never in service. The news channels might put you to sleep. MSNBC, CNBC, BBC, Fox News. Or Company and Ship Clips.
