My family and I are on the 11/5 Magic right now, and I had made signs for our staterooms. I put them up yesterday after boarding, and came back later that evening to find them gone! :confused3 I thought perhaps it had been a prank, and was mightily peeved. Turns out our stateroom attendant Albert had them--apparently, you can't put them up anymore! :( Unfortunately, he didn't know why, but had been told that they weren't allowed anymore. If I can get any additional info, I will let you all know.

Greatly aggreived,

PirateWife

Oh no! I am in the process of making my first sign right now!
:confused3

Oh Man! I just finished making all my signs this weekend. 9 of them. :confused3 :confused3 I am so disappointed.

Something's wrong there, PirateWife!!

We just came off of the 10/29 cruise yesterday, and we (and all of our friends) had TONS of door signs! Magnets, posters, etc. We even had one that was passed on from room to room throughout the week...

We had no problems with them at all. Check with Guest Services on deck 3 and see what's going on. Don't take your room steward's word for it!!

Oh my goodness! I hope Albert was misinformed. What a bummer that would be for all us DIS'ers!

That would be a shame if it was a new rule. We had great fun on the DVC Member Cruise with out door signs.

The OP said "signs for our stateroom". She didn't say door signs. Maybe they don't want things taped to the walls inside the cabin. I sure hope we can have our door signs!!!!

Didn't someone just recently win a certificate for best decorated door? That is really odd if they stop it after that.

"IF" they were door signs, I wonder if they were taped on the door, or magnetic door signs?

But while leaving the 10/29 Magic cruise, we were informed that the gov't had shown up for their 6 month vessel inspection, and it seemed by the staff reaction that they weren't expecting it. Maybe some type of fire code??

What in the world would magnetic door signs have to do with any kind of safety issue?

just subscribing to find out the answer later :)

I'm subscribing too for an answer. I have been making door signs for our families 5 cabins for our cruise next July.

kapeedmaro, you might be on to something. At our hospital (where I work) it is against the fire codes to tape signs or papers up or have papers in certain places. :confused3 And we hate surprise inspections too. Nothing like the board of health or joint commission of hospital's showing up to ruin your day. :earseek: That must of been an interesting cruise if they where having some sort of survey.

mkymouse4ever, I was thinking the same thing. In my hospital the fire codes dictate what can be hung. And the newest thing from an infection control standpoint is that anything that is hung now has to be laminated. :earboy2:

Subscribing as well. Because I just bought a new printer, because my old one had a mind of it's own and I wanted to finish making my signs for my cruise in a couple of weeks. I know I would be ticked if someone took them down, he could have least left them in your room.

Worked all day Saturday to make my signs!!! This is my first Disney cruise and was so excited to put them up. I made one for each day! Please say it isn't so.

Gina
