stateroom location

Where is the best location for a stateroom? For our last cruise, we got what we thought would be the best room, mid-shipish on the 8th deck. But the noise from the 9th deck was really annoying, with kids running at the crack of dawn, and crewmembers rolling carts (or something) in the middle of the night. I'm thinking that it would be better to pay a little less and have a little more quiet!

So what's the best place to stay on the boat?

You may want to check at Dave's site, because i think he may have a link that has a list of noisy rooms, and that may help you decide.

I currently thing one of the best places would be a Cat 6 room on Deck 5. I don't expect there to be much traffic in these areas because the only available rooms are aft of your location. You have great access to the movie theater and resurants. And you can still get plexi-glass verandahs in this area.

We haven't been able to stay in one of these rooms yet, but that's what I want to try next time we book a cruise.
