Hi, I've been researching Stateroom door magnets is it true that Concierge Level staterooms have wood veneer doors? If so how can you put Stateroom pictures on the door?

Yes, on the Dream class ships, the Concierge doors have a wood veneer. You can use stronger magnets (neodymium) to put things on the door. I've read where someone used a new cookie sheet (much like a Fish Extender) to hang from the starfish message holder to put magnets on, also.

Thanks, I'm sorry I didn't mention that we are sailing on the Magic. Are the doors on the Magic also vaneer for concierge level?

I don't believe so. At least they didn't used to be. I don't know if that changed during her major dry dock.

Hi everyone, again I'm a little surprised that only 3 responses out of almost 200. Whatever, I called Disney and was told that you are not allowed to put anything on your door, the Magic & Wonder are metal not wood veneer at least that was what I was told, when you are concierge level but I did see someone hanging fish extenders. I don't understand why you can't for the money your paying. Also am I correct in saying you can choose what Cabana you want when you are making your reservations 120 days out. Thanks again...

I've never sailed Concierge so I cant answer but maybe if the title of your question was more clear in asking specifically about Concierge you may get more answers. Just a guess.

I wonder if the agent didn't understand that you meant magnets. You are NOT allowed to use any kind of adhesive on any of the DCL surfaces.

That said, the one time we cruised Concierge (none of us are even sure why Daddy did that - we have never felt the need to again) was on the Dream and I don't recall any door magnets in the area. But I don't know if that was a feature of people not having strong enough magnets to get through the veneer, it not being allowed, or people just not wanting to mess up the nice look of the concierge hallways with magnets on doors. (We are also not really "magnets on doors" people as we have no issues finding our cabins and don't see the point.)

I'm sorry for the confusion, on many of the video's we have seen guests placing cutouts of Disney characters, pictures of family, Happy Birthday signs, etc. And in these video's it is said you can only attach these items using magnets no tape this is what I'm trying to check with everyone. Again sorry for the confusion...

I've sailed on the Wonder in concierge
(Same class as Magic)
Was able to decorate the door using magnets.

I agree with Dug - I think the CM you talked to was a little confused.

The only things not allowed on the doors are adhesives & tape. Also over the door organizers. Other than that, you can use magnets to decorate your door.

You certainly can hang a Fish Extender. It doesn't go on the door, it goes over the message holder outside your door. wonder 2011 oct 2554 magnets 256 100_3589 1500.jpg

As concierge, you will submit to the shoreside concierge people what activities/excursions/cabanas/reservations of any type you want at 125 days out. At the stroke of midnight at 120 days, they will see that they are done. Yes, you can request a specific cabana, but it's a good idea to give them 2 or 3 choices, since others may also have the same request.

We will be going on our first Disney Cruise in Sept and I'm just wondering about what percentage of the doors are actually decorated with magnets.

Really no way of knowing. I can only report that, on our recent cruise, the deck we were on seemed to have more doors with magnets than doors without.

On the Wonder this week, there were certainly concierge doors decorated. The last time we sailed concierge on the Dream, people decorated their doors too. I will say that, even though there is no veneer on the doors of the classic ships, there are many coats of paint. The FE gifts we got with weaker magnets did not stick. I'd recommend stronger magnets for anyone sailing on a classic ship.

In terms of percentages, I'd say close to 75% of the doors on our cruise were decorated. I was on all decks delivering FE gifts.
