Hello everyone!

First time cruiser and I'm looking for advice on what deck to book staterooms. I'm planning to book mid-ship (or as close as I can get), but not sure about Decks 6- 9 on the Disney Dream. I read somewhere that Deck 10 will be noisy? Does anyone have any suggestions?
Thanks in advance!!

Midship decks 8 and 9 appear to be prime locations. Midship is central and you’ll feel less movement on the boat. Decks 8 and 9 are high enough to provide a good view above the life boats. Deck 10 is directly below the pools and Cabanas (people report noise from chairs scraping the deck early in the morning). Deck 7 is also favorable.

I always pick staterooms that are "sandwiched" between other staterooms above and below - I do not want to be directly above or below a pool deck, dining area, kids club, theater or any public area. I also do not like to be close to stairs, elevators, laundry rooms or above or below smoking areas.

We did 8th floor midship, near the elevators on the Dream. I like being near the elevators but that's just me. I don't personally notice any extra noise or traffic.

I agree with most of the PPs that deck 7-9 would be the best choice. We prefer to avoid deck 10 on the Dream/Fantasy because the pool deck overhangs the veranda significantly.

You don’t mention what stateroom category. Responses above refer to verandah rooms. For the most part oceanview aren’t midship except the lower decks (deck 2, maybe deck 1).

We usually sail the aft as the verandas at the end of the ship are larger - Deck 7 to 10 - but on the older ships we found the walk to the adult areas usually caused us to travel thru the noisier areas of the ships. We're sailing on the Wish in 2026 and chose the aft because we can take the elevator directly up to the adult areas, although the Wish has found a way to make the Funnel Vision area tolerable. This past November we stayed mid-ship on the Fantasy level 9 so we could take the stairs up to level 11 and go directly into the quieter ship area. Personally, if staying mid-ship, I would recommend staying lower on level 8 or 7 for a quieter cabin but level 9 was ok. Our biggest problem with mid-ship was getting use to the small veranda.

Somewhere in the section there's a link to cabin reviews. The cabin number can be searched to read others evaluation of that cabin.

On the Dream class, we usually go 7 or 8. Since we try not to use the elevators, it's 4-5 decks down for restaurants and 4-5 decks up for pool, Palo, etc. We did stay on deck 10 on the Dream (not our selection, we got moved) and it was a bit noisy above. I would ot stay on deck 10 again if I can avoid it. We now prefer aft although I'm not really fussy about where on the deck I am. We've often stayed near the elevators which is convenient and I don't find it too terribly noisy but we've also stayed well forward or well aft which was fine too. I'm more concerned with saving my legs for the walk up and down the stairs.
