I have got word from my TA that docs are on their way for our cruise on the Wonder, Oct. 20 (4-day cruise). We were on a guaranteed status for Cat 10 and ended up receiving an upgrade to cat 7!! TA told us we had a verandah!! He did mention a somewhat obstructed view, just curious how obstructed it might be?? My wife and I are VERY excited to be going back after honeymooning on the Disney Wonder last October!!

Hi JeffV71, I'm not sure about the view but 7620 is not a Cat. 7 it's a Cat. 5.. The stateroom next to 7620 is a Cat. 7 7622 . Cat 7's are the Navigator's Veranhad. They are not open aired veranhad, there is an enclosed area where the outside verandah would have been. They do have a porthole for you to look out. There really nice it's like have an enclosed patio.
Have a great cruise.:Pinkbounc :bounce:

I had 7628. It was WONDERFUL! Navigator veranda was right up our alley, spent a ton of time out there. Location on the ship was great. Right next to deck 7 secret veranda and two flights up to the pool deck for snacks. Starboard side is good too.

You're gonna love it!

Is there any rhyme or reason as to who gets an upgrade? Just curious?

Great upgrade. We just booked 7120 on the Magic which was downgraded from a cat 5 to a cat 7 because of the obstructed view verandah. It is not a navigator's verandah. Have a good trip.

Just want to clarify for those who don't know: The Navigator Verandah is enclosed, but not fully. The porthole (smaller and round on the Magic; much bigger and sort of rounded rectangular on the Wonder) IS open air. There is no plexiglass or covering on the porthole. Also, the true Navigator Verandahs (NOT the recently reclassified ones) have a nautical theme including cushioned built-in bench, a cushioned wooden chair, round wood table (just a bit larger than on the regular verandahs), non-working nautical instruments, and a nautical map on the wall. None of this applies to the newly reclassified cabins.

Cruelle duville.... just curious, what's good about being on the Starboard side ? We're in 7624 , Jan 18, 7 day western. Anyone else stayed in that room ?

I'm dying here, does anybody know for sure about stateroom # 7620?? Is it a newly reclassified one, and if so that means no big porthole with open air?? I have heard so many theories and answers that I can't figure out which one is accurate. My suspicions are this particular stateroom, # 7620, might be one of the reclassified ones??? Anybody that works for the Wonder ship out there who can end this grueling debate for me??

I do appreciate all the responses, don't get me wrong, I just want to know once and for all!! Thanks....

:p

Wow!!! I sure do learn alot of new things on this board. Thanks for the update on these cabins.

Jeff the best way to solve this is to call DCL and ask. Here is a toll free number 1-800-511-1333.

JeffV71 - Yes, 7620 is one of the newly reclassified, partially obstructed verandahs that is considered Cat 7 but is NOT the traditional Navigator Verandah. Dave's site has pics.

Canigo - 7020 is a regular Cat. 5, full verandah on Deck 7. It is near the forward elevator lobby and stairs.
