Since my back surgery this week we switched to stateroom 6000 for our upcoming cruise since I may still need a walker/wheelchair due to some complications.

I know that there is only a bed no couch in that room but does the bed split? I am traveling with my dsis and I don't have a problem sleeping with her but I would prefer not to if possible.

Thanks :)

We were assigned to this room as an "upgrade." After seeing the room, we asked to be moved and were. However, the GS CM did tell us that they could split the bed. I know for sure that the beds in other HA rooms do split.

Why did you ask to be moved, if you don't mind me asking?

Thank you! I'd not spend the week trying to keep my sister from kicking me in the back by sleeping on the edge of the bed.

I was sailing with my DD, so didn't need the HA cabin on that cruise. We were dismayed at the single big bed (each wanted a bed...we don't sleep well together), the single bath, lack of coffee table, etc. While I understand the need for these in the HA cabin, we didn't need the HA features. Since I had purchased the upgrade, I figured it couldn't hurt to ask if we could move to a "standard" cabin of the same category--which is what happened. While the whole thing was in flux, GS did tell us that they could move in a "roll away bed" if we wished.

It did minimally mess up our luggage (since we now had 2 cabin changes) but that was quickly sorted out.

I've stayed in HA cabins when sailing with a friend who needs the adaptations. The inconveniences don't bother me then because she needs them. The HA cabins do have the advantage of being quite large.
