Just a heads up on room 2534. We had a family of four and booked a cat 9 with deluxe ocean view. The room was great. The room comes with one large bed, a couch that converts to a bed and a pull down bed from the ceiling. DS slept in the pull down bed and loved it. DD slept on the couch. There was a nice large port hole to view everything. For us there seemed to be plenty of room to store everything. The split bathrooms were great. In the potty side, there is a corner storage cubby unit with shelves that easily handled all our stuff. There is also a glass shelf above the sink for extra storage. The closet had ample room for our suitcases, clothes and shoes. There are also lots of drawers for all your stuff. There is a slide curtain to separate the large bed from the other bed area which also has the t.v. You can mute the t.v. if someone is sleeping and then words pop up on the screen so you can still understand what is being said. The cooler fridge kept everything cold. As for a noisy room we did not notice much except for a buzz noise that would happen for about three seconds at a time a few times a day when we would dock or set sail but again it was nothing to bother us. The shower was always hot and there is a clothing pull in the shower to hang swim suits on or wet towels. Overall we loved the room. I would definately book a cat 9 room again for a family of four.

Hey Snowball, Thanks a million.

We are staying in rooms 2646-2468 this Xmas.
So any feed back in that area is greatly appreciated.

You were more amid-ships, but it is still all-good.

SNOWBALL22:

Thank you so much for your post. We are also staying on deck two and have been concerned lately. When I booked it through DCL, I was told there was not a noise problem; however, after reading these boards, now I do not know.

Your positive post was wonderful to read. Glad you had a great trip.

We just recently sailed on the Magic and stayed in room 2632. I can highly recommend the category 9 and our bathroom was great as well as the fridge and location. However the room was very noisy so I would avoid this particular room if possible.

Hey Gone Pin Crazy:

You are closer to my 2646-2648 rooms

What was it about your room you found noisy?

You look like you are/were right over the tender lobby. You were also right under the galley for Parrot Cay.

Also, what time of day/night did you find it bothersome.

We heard a whirring and banging throughout the nights. We were close to the freight elevator we noticed when luggage was picked up on the last night. Or maybe it was the stabalizers??? Don't know but wouldn't want that room again. I think rooms close to us would have experienced the same noise. Now another thing that happened one night was when the crew had a party below us for Independence Day for the Phillapines. My husband that night actually went out to deck 4 for a while! We were never bothered by any noise from Parrot Cay.

GPC:

Thanks for the 4-11.

I looked at the floor plan and I saw the freight elevator looked like it was right next to your room.

Hope you still managed to have a good time.

As to your husband: I thought all husbands had a genetic pre-diposition to not being able to hear a single sound at night. This enables DW's to hear the loving sound of an infant's cry at 2:20 am and not bother the DHs!

Just kidding....or am I????

The cruise was great, Jim! We weren't in the room much at all anyway and who needs to sleep? :) It didn't ruin any part of the cruise but I would not want this room again and would not recommend it to anyone else. Yes, my DH can usually sleep thru anything (like most men) but it was really funny that last night when he went to deck 4 for a while!

snowball22,

Thanks for the review of the category 9 room. We are staying in room 2110 on the Feb. 21, 2004 Eastern Cruise. I was a little worried after reading these Dis-boards about our Category 9 room. We also have a family of four, so I am glad the sleeping arrangements worked out so well. My son and daughter hate sleeping together!

Dear GPC

Glad to hear it did not ruin your trip.

A nocturnal sojourn with DH could lead to a very good "what's the most unusual place you and your spouse...." for the "newlywed game" on board!
