State Income Tax Question

I'm quite sure that one of my budget board dis buddies can help me with this>

We live in TN which has no state income tax. I work in TN. My DH works in VA so he files out of state married filing separately VA income tax. Can he claim our DD as a dependent? I am not claiming her on any state tax b/c TN doesn't have state income tax.

Yes, sorry for the poor wording. I ask b/c I had a tax firm do our taxes for us this year and they did NOT include her as a dependent on the form. I wondered why not.

We live in SC. I work in SC and DH works in NC. Both states have income tax. DH files in NC as single, he includes DD as a dependent. We then have to both file in SC.

When I was in college in VA I worked but lived in a different state. I always submitted a nonresident form which I remember being quite simple. Not all states have dependents on their returns...
