Starting to plan April 2011 trip

We really want to go for our son's birthday which is April 23. We know it's going to be crowded but we've been during Christmas so I'm sure we can handle the crowds. It will be myself, my dh, my dd 14, ds4 and our newest ds1. It's been a couple years since we've been there. Last time we stayed at the Crowne Plaza which was pretty good and had their own free shuttle which worked out great. We will probably stay offsite. I was looking for hotel recommendations for us. Also, for those of you from Seattle, what should I consider good airfare to dl? thanks so much for your help!

Costco and Getaway today both have pretty good packages going right now that may be of interest to you. April 23rd is Easter Weekend, so, yes, it will be crowded, and the hotels will be a bit pricy too.

Alaska is having a fare sale right now. I paid $139 from Sea-sna. That's the lowest I've seen in a while. We're going in May; not sure what Easter rates would be.

Have you tried looking at hotels directly across the street from DLR on Harbor so that you don't have to deal with a shuttle? For many hotels, it's only a couple more min. walk from the shuttle drop off point. HoJo is a common favorite around here. It's a little bit longer walk, but then, if you don't want to walk, they also have ART.

I can't believe that same date flying on Alaska to LAX is $259! Crazy!

We are flying Alaska Air from SEA to Long Beach. It is closer to the park than LAX and they have rates when you are going for $84. Good luck!!
