Help! I need opinions! My DH, DS(11 mos.),DD(7) and I will be in WDW June 19-26. We are also taking our niece(12) and our nephew(11). I expect it to be very crowded and VERY hot. I was ok with this until I started to hear and read about others who say they will NEVER visit at this time of year again. I would have liked to go a couple of weeks earlier but niece and nephew can't be taken out of school. So, has anyone been at this time? Is it too close to the 4th? We are staying at SSR but are also thinking of changing to WLV because they have more restraunts. Any thoughts on this? I was sooooo excited about this trip and now I'm nervous- HELP!

Everyone has some opinion about the summer months. We go every summer and yes it's hot and yes it gets crowded given vacation schedules like yours. We'll be there the same time as you. Enjoy and don't worry. :)

I've been twice in June. June 2003 I went the third week and this year the second week of June. Yes, it's hot, a bit crowded, and this year it was very rainy. Last year it wasn't as rainy or hot. It's like a box of chocolates, you never know what you're going to get.(Sorry, I couldn't resist.) Seriously, it might very well be nice weather in June 2005.

If you're prepared for hot & crowded, and you get to the parks early, leave for a swim break in the afternoon, then go back to the parks in the evening, you'll be fine. Go to the Dollar Tree in April or May, they sell rain ponchos in a pack of 2 for $1. Buy bunches.

I came back from our June trip saying that I wasn't going to book June again, but I might if that's what I had to do. However, if my granddaughter's Spring Break is far enough away from Easter, I'll book that instead.

I would prefer VWL over SSR due to location, but I prefer BCV or BWV over any of them for the location.

::yes::

If it is a choice between summer months or not going, I would choose the summer months. We are lucky enough to be able to go next year at the end of April due to the fact that Passover and Easter are so far apart. Out schools are only doing a couple of days around Easter and the full week for Passover. I expect it to be a bit more crowded than out last Oct trip but nowhere near Easter week.

It may be hot, but as long as you take it easy, pace yourself, and drink plenty of water, you can beat the heat. The crowds you have to deal with. I figure it can't be much worse than visiting your local theme park during their busy Summer months.

aleawys go June or August remember to have a plan. Its hot and there is nothing worse then going from one end of a park to another. My wife and I plan it so we start on one end on another to minimize our families walking. take water and gatoerade if kids will drink it. leave before the heat of the day and return p.m. if you can. remember see what you can and have fun. I always think we can always come back and see what we missed and not to stress our kids.:earsboy:

We've only gone in June. We are planning our 6th trip for next summer. We love going that time of year. Sure, it's warm and a little crowded, but that makes it seem more Florida like. I absolutely recommend going in June!

We've done June, early to late, several times. Is it hot and humid-yes. Is it crowded-yes. Can you do it and have a good time time-sure! Expect temps in the low 90's with high humidity(the forecast all summer in WDW) with the possibility of afternoon showers most days. Not an all day rain, mind, just the afternoon t-storm. If it rains all day, just means cooler temps and less crowds, not cold when it's the 80's and raining. It is crowded, but also running long hours with parades and shows every day usually. Go early in the morning when crowds are lightest then break midafternoon when the crowds(and heat) pick up. Go back in the evening when it's more humane. I would prefer my next trip be in the off season, but Disney in June is much better then no Disney at all!

We'll be there the same time frame...19-26. Staying at BWV. I figured that if I can survive the mid-August spot, June should be easy. At least there shouldn't be all those hurricanes!! I know it will be hot, humid, and crowded. This will be a very laid back trip. We've been quite often, so we don't feel that 'commando' feeling about not missing something. A few hours in the parks in the morning, a swim and lunch and then back in the evening to the parks. Take your time, swim every day and drink a lot of water.

We were there this year from 6/17-23. It was hot, but I expected much worse. We had no rain, which was great. I had been considering trying the 3rd or 4th week of August next year, but after this year's pounding from the hurricanes, I am definitely looking at the 3rd week of June again.

We made out fine by ducking into the air conditioned attractions during the middle of the day. And the kids loved going in the hotel pool at 10:30 pm. So it worked out really well for us.

We were there 6/21-6/28/04. I thought of cancelling when I read all the horror stories about the heat and the crowds. We went anyway because many people said you can take an afternoon break and go back to the parks when it gets cooler. Reality check...it doesn't get cooler until late at night. There are only a couple of hours a day (early morning) that are bearable. I would never ever go back to WDW in the summer. I love WDW, but would rather be home than deal with the heat and the crowds. Our next trip, we are taking the kids out of school. It's worth it.
