As the title says I am starting to get anxious! My return flights are not out yet for most airlines but even so putting in flights around what I am looking for is coming in at more than I had thought :-( I am looking for end of June 2014. How much would those who are experienced at this think was a good price for that time of year? I had hoped for around the £600-£650 each and can go up to around £700 but some of them are way more even up to £1000, there's no way I can pay that for 5 of us :-(

We must be looking for the same or similar dates!! Snap! lol

BA flights are out for my dates as they open up earlier but they are a little higher (ok a lot) than I am happy to pay so I'm going to grit my teeth and wait for the rest of the airlines to release theirs and see what happens

We fly on August 7th this year and return on the 30th.

I priced up Virgin when we booked last year and it would have been £5,500 for 2 adults and 2 children flying direct to MCO.

Checked out US Airways via Expedia and it came in at £2,800 for all four of us. It flies via Philadelphia but i'm not complaining after saving that amount of money.

Have you considered that route?

Dene

Dene, I'll go any route and would prefer indirect. We are in scotland so there is no direct route anyway and I'd prefer to connect in the US than have to go to another UK airport. Only reason I've checked BA meantime is that they are the only ones with flights open for our dates at the moment

That's not a bad price you got for August ::yes::

Unless you have a long layover in Philly you will probably get to your resort as soon or sooner than you would having to clear customs at MCO

Heya,

We booked us airways for this August holiday and saved £1000. We are flying from Shannon to Orlando. We live in Kent and found it even cheaper for us to fly the night before with Ryanair to Shannon (where you clear us immigration) then to Philly then to mco. Our stopover is 2 hours and we land at 18:35. The saving includes hotel stay in shannon.

However, it still is a long time away and you may find airlines offer a sale at some point that might be within your budget. Good luck.

I got direct flights with Virgin from Glasgow for June 2014 for just under £700. The last 2 weeks for August this year, direct from Glasgow, is £936. That's obviously at very short notice.

Thanks for that :thumbsup2

The only trouble I have with VA from Glasgow is that you are limited to the days they fly and I'm not able to be much more flexible on dates. I'm between GLA and EDI so either airport will do for me and I'm not fussy on airlines or routes so hopefully something will come up. BA for next June is about the same as your VA flights were last year then. Sitting just under £700 at the moment and have been for a couple of weeks now. Come on sales!!!!! :rotfl:

Yeah that's a problem. I can only fly direct as my wife is a terrible flyer. This year the flights are Saturday and Sunday only which was the same last year. Next year its Friday and Saturday only. The one good thing is that the Saturday flight next year lands at around 1400 before any other UK flight. It was the same for the Sunday flight this year and last year. Last year I was on the DME about 30 minutes after landing. :thumbsup2

Thanks, will look into that, I'm not that fussed if its direct or not, would consider anything, the main issue is the cost

What are your dates? I'd probably be happy to book at that price if I were set on going direct, assuming your dates are similar too mine. I'm sticking it out for indirect but we got a cracking deal on BA flights, same route as the one you're looking at, last year and it is a very easy trip with no real waiting around airports. You also arrive at a half decent time of day so you can make use of your evening :thumbsup2

I'm too scared and excited!!

dates are 26th June - 17th July

but our dates are flexible within those weeks, kids don't actually finish school till the 27th but I'm not bothered if they miss last 2 days of school.

Have you guys checked fly thomas cook ? From Glasgow next 31st aug back on 12tg sept was coming in at just over £400 !!!!!! Must add that didnt include luggage but even so that is an unbelievable price ,i can't go till oct which is about £600 and even at that I'm tempted ,good thing is they fly Sunday and Friday so you can be a bit flexible
