Starting new job jitters

I will be starting a new job on Monday and I am having some apprehension. I am going from working part time to working full time. I will be the head of the medical records dept at our local county health agency.

I use to have a job where I car pooled with my hubby because we worked 3 blocks from one another. I will miss the car time with him.

I am looking forward to earning more money and getting to work close to home.

Congratulations of finding a new job in this terrible job market! I'm sure you were nervous for the interview and you obviously did well at that because you got the job! Its always hard to start something new you get so comfortable where you are. I'm sure you will be fine! Good luck!

I always get "First Day Jitters" and "New Beginning Jitters". I have found that if I tell myself and make myself believe that I have done this forever... sort of walk around like I've been there for years (of course, not outwardly, but inside ), I am much less stressed. It boosts my self esteem.

Right there with ya, sista! I just started a new job Monday and this coming Monday will be the first day with my mentor. I'm job sharing a school nurse position with a nurse who has been at the school a long time and is much loved & respected. So there are big shoes to fill. My biggest concern is not that I can't do the job, but that i won't make a good fit. Not that there is any evidence for that. Indeed, everyone seems thrilled to have me. But I think it's normal to have those thoughts when you go into a new situation.

I'll bet you do fine. Ill be thinking about you Monday.
