psht i never do my homework and i still get a 3.0 GPA...well i sometimes do it in other classes most of the time the class before the homework is due...a lot of teachers are careless and there are sometimes points in class that you dont do anything...im going into 11th this year and im prolly not going to do much homework this year either, although take notes or just get them from a friend or something...as long as you have them its all goood.. :) well i lied there are sometimes when i do homework at like midnight or something

I'm not flaming you personally here just as the whole group of people who just get by doing this. It just drives me insane how people can just not care enough to actually do the work, it makes me nuts.

Thanks to all who have responded! sry it took so long to reply! the first day went awesome, i met so many new people and new teachers. it was nice to see all my friends again though. The upper classmen were soooo nice. i thought they would beat me up or something, but they didn't. If i got lost, they would help me and stuff like that. again thanks for all the replies. i cant wait for the next four years!

I'm glad you had a great first day! Remember not to stress out too much and have fun! :goodvibes

Glad all went well.

I heard a freshman had a breakdown in one of the halls of my school. poor girl.

Most upperclassmen do remember being that scared and will be pretty nice to the freshmen. but if you don't trust them, ask a teacher.

All the advice here has been good. Don't worry, you'll be fine....you'll live I promise :goodvibes

Uh well that maybe be true about teachers being careless, however I would still do your homework.

I too am entering 9th grade, so I am also nevous. My plan is too do my homework, meet new friends, get along with everyone, make a good impression on my new teachers, make my self invisible to upper grades, and to maybe join a club or two.

Good for you :) Only - do not make yourself invisible to upper grades! I'm a senior this year and I have a lot of friends who are in 10th grade this year! And I'm looking forward to meeting 9th graders! I found it nice to have older friends through high school - they can kind of give you a heads up of what to expect!

The best advice given to me - if you have trouble getting to a class on time from another class, tell the teacher! They shouldn't have a problem with you arriving a little after the bell as long as you let them know what's going on

TinkQT14, I'm gald you had a great first day of High School! :)

arwww h.s the good old days lol... i would say make sure you do your best this year and pass all of your classes. you dont want to have to play catch up when senior years rolls around you want to relax and have fun with ur friends. so do all the hard work now and it will pay off in the end.. trust me i had to do some catching up my senior year because i played around freshmen year. when most of my friends where getting out of school 4th p.d i was still in school the entire day.. but i made up my classes and walked down the aile in time and thats all that matters... :) good luck and overall have fun.. :thumbsup2

hmm that is a good point. Maybe I will try to make friends with upper grades. I already know a lot of seniors because my brother is a senior at my high school. For some reason I had the idea planted in my head that the seniors would want to like beat me up. The class I am most worried about is the 10th graders because people tell me a lot the they want to pick on 9th graders because they were picked on last year. haha I probably shouldnt believe everything my brother and his friends tell me. Thanks for the advice!

I am not going into HS but last year I came to a new school, because my other one closed. The first day was hard. So many people. But then I started talking to people, then other people, now I'm still known as the new kid ( ), but I'm friends with everyone. =]

Some advice..

Be yourself.
Dont be shy.
Be friends with everyone.
Maybe do a sport (dont worry if no one talks to you there, no one talked to me for the first 2 weeks of practice).
Dont stress.
