Starting 2007 Off Right - Final Day is Up!!! Pg 16!

Finally caught up to your trip report. I was reading and I came across a post indicating that I was subscribing, when... i already subscribed..:rotfl2: :rotfl2: It was meant for another report.

Congrats on the house. I hope everything works out for you... :thumbsup2

I hate to back track, but on a future Disney trip I would definitely stay at Coronado Springs. My dbf and I went there in November and had such a great time. I also stayed at CBR and it does not compare.

I hope you have a great time at WL.. What dates are you going? dbf and I will be in Disney again from August 31 - - Sept 3rd (for his birthday)

25 Days!!! Woohoo!!! We're going to Disney THIS month!!!

So, it's been a really awful few days....

I was out of town (in Albany, NY) last Weds - Fri on my first ever business trip (our corporate office is located there.) The trip went well - Thursday night we went to Saratoga Springs for dinner & it was really neat to see it in person after only seeing Disney's version - LOL - it was beautiful & full of people since the track just opened Weds.

So, just about a half hour before I needed to head to the airport to come home Friday afternoon, I get a phone call from my realtor...she tells me she isn't doing good, but doesn't seem to want to tell me why. After I pull it out of her....I'm told that our buyer was supposed to go in & sign that day, but that he was backing out!!!

Nobody seemed to know what was going on, so I made my way to the airport in my rental car. It was a nightmare returning it (they tried to charge me $160 to fill a gas tank I had already filled! ugh!) & then my flight was delayed after I rushed thru the airport thinking that I only had a half hour to make my flight. While waiting in line to board, I left my realtor another voicemail in an effort to get more info & then contacted my buyer's lender/broker guy & he fills me in on how the buyer just called him this morning & said he changed his mind & wouldn't be signing, etc, etc. I boarded the plane & flew to BWI & still hadn't gotten any messages from my realtor...or anyone for that matter.

Now, it was sunny & warm in Baltimore & we boarded our plane bound for Cleveland on-time, maybe even a tad early. Well, we no sooner board, buckle up & make our way out to the runway & the pilot stops & turns off the engines.... He comes on to announce that there is a storm about 35 miles out & everyone is being grounded until the storm passes. It eventually drizzled, but was definitely no major storm (at least at the airport.) So, about 3 hours later....we took off for Cleveland! Of course everyone on board was very hungry & cranky - we were supposed to land at 5:55 but didn't land until almost 9 pm.

So, all day Saturday, we were basically just coming to terms with staying in our house for another year. We aren't unhappy there, just looking to upgrade from our starter home, into a larger house & maybe a little closer to work would be nice, too. Then, Sunday rolls around & we find out that the buyer's realtor got a hold of our buyer & met with him & he agrees that he will come in & sign after all!

Monday morning rolls around....a few hours go by...it is now noon...can you guess where I'm going with this?! Nobody can get a hold of this guy AGAIN!!!! After many phone calls back & forth, especially after the buyer hears that we have contacted a lawyer, he agrees to come in & sign the paperwork & actually shows up at the title company. When he gets there, they don't have the financial paperwork from his lending company & she tries to get a hold of them. Well, nobody can get a hold of the guy that the buyer was working with & when the contact the company directly they are told that he quit & skipped town that morning!!!

He had apparently wanted our buyer to bring in $10,000 to complete the deal (even though we were paying all closing costs, etc) & that is the whole reason that the buyer couldn't move forward - he didn't have that money. So, the whole time it was this lender that was really screwing everything up. So, we were supposed to move yesterday, but that hasn't happened. Our garage is filled to the ceiling with boxes - I mean everything in our house is boxed up at this point. It's just all SO crazy....

So, we're going to give it a week & see if this guy can get financed somewhere else, but we're not holding our breath. We'll be living out of boxes for another week or so, then unpacking & then it'll be time to pack for the trip!!

I am so sorry to hear about that! And I know how you are feeling!
I am having some home issues as well.
My boyfriends landlord told my boyfriend and his roommate that he is selling the house and the two of them need to be out in 60 days. Well, the roommate suggested that me, Rob (my boyfriend) and he get an apartment together... only I don't want to live with someone besides Rob and my parents barely approve of us living together before we are married or at least engaged anyhow. I have to either scrimp and save every last dime now through October so me and Rob can get an apartment together OOORRR I have to deal with the fact that Rob and his roommate will get another apartment and wait an entire year until the lease is up to move out. And on top of it all- its terribly difficult around here to find an apartment that will let us have our dog. <sigh>
At least we can both say we have a roof over our heads and lots of love, right? ;)

Glad to hear your good news about the house situation!

After all the ups and downs, I think a nice upgrade to WL is perfect!
Good for you!

Here's some pixie dust to bring good luck and happy travels :tink:

I haven't had time to post to you here on your TR lately but I have been reading along and I was actually thinking about your situation the other day when a friend of mine told me she went through something similar when she was buying her condo. And I thought to myself... wow that is a very emotional process! And then I remembered your TR and thought to myself I sure hope they never have to go through that a second time! And here you are- with everything out for the best! That deserves some dancing bananas...

And some more for having under 40 days until WDW...

And some more because I leave for Disney on Sunday!

Congrats. I will keep my fingers crossed for you that everything works out just perfect!

Congrats on the house!! What a roller coaster that can be. I hope all goes smoothly for you from here.

That upgrade to WL will be well worth it. You'll love it!!

Congrats on the house Emily!!

I LOVE YOUR TR!!! SO many pics (just what I like) and I love reading about the P&PP! We will be going next month and it is nice seeing such vivid photos of the happenings ;)

Thanks to everyone for your kind wishes :goodvibes Looks like moving just isn't in the cards for us this year. We are accepting it at this point, just waiting for everything to finalize, etc at this point.

We're staying at WL Aug 26th - Sept 5th! :thumbsup2 Thanks for the info on CSR - I know my inlaws loved it there, too. :)

What wonderful news about the house! I'll keep my fingers crossed for you that it all goes through this time!

Thanks - someday it'll all work out. :)

Great news! Good luck with the craziness!

Thanks! ;)

Thanks & so sorry to hear about your moving issues, as well. Things really have a way of being too complicated lately. Just looking forward to it all being over with soon & then heading back to visit Mickey...he always helps us forget our worries! ;) Oh, we also have very few apartments here that allow dogs - it really stinks!! Good luck!! :)

Hoping to get the next installment up soon - maybe it'll get my mind off everything else!! ;)

We'll be there Sept 1st - Sept 8th. Maybe I'll see you walking around. :) You know I'll be looking in the United Kingdom when I pass the stand that sells the 'Yards'.

Wednesday, January 24th:

We originally had plans to eat at Boma for breakfast this morning, but we ended up cancelling this in favor of more park time. Instead, we slept in a bit & got to MK at opening at 9 am. We did our usual tour – we ran to Peter Pan, Winnie the Pooh and then over to Tomorrowland to hit Space Mountain & Buzz Lightyear. On a good day, we get all these done in our first hour at the park. :thumbsup2 On our way into Buzz – we ran into this furry guy again:

As you can see, it was another chilly day in January at WDW. :rolleyes1 Still a lot warmer than back home, but not as warm as we had hoped it would be. Next, it was time to head over to Adventureland to ride Pirates & the Jungle Cruise. I believe the wait was too long for Jungle Cruise, so we just rode Pirates & got a picture with these guys:
IMG_1871.jpg

Next, we hit Big Thunder Mountain Railroad for a CHILLY Ride!! :scared1: It was definitely not a good day for Splash Mountain…so, we passed on that one. We decided to hop the train in Frontierland to Toontown for some warmth & more character pictures:

As we exited the Toontown tent, we were surprised by all these guys hanging around outside!

It was a bit chaotic – they made an announcement shortly after we got out there that there was only 2 minutes left, but we managed to get a couple good character shots. There were probably ten different characters back there – we headed towards the ones we really hadn’t seen yet that trip. :)

So, after our fun-filled (albeit, a bit chilly) morning at the Magic Kingdom, it was back to Caribbean Beach Resort to figure out our plans for the rest of the day. We had a dinner ADR at one of our new favorite restaurants, Spoodles, at 6 pm. If it was warmer, it would’ve been a good time to go for a swim, but we both knew that wasn’t happening today!! :)

It was about 1:30 when we got back to the resort. After resting up for a bit, we agreed to head over to Downtown Disney for what would be our last shopping session of the trip. We both had a couple items in mind that we still wanted to pick-up at the World of Disney. :thumbsup2

Once we got to the World of Disney, the first thing my eyes shot to was the huge new Mickey Crocs display!!! :yay: :dance3: I finally saw what I had been trying to get my hands on for days….Pink Mickey Crocs!!! Of course, there were only 3 pink pairs on display & you may have guessed it…

they were all size Large when I needed a Medium.

So, I took a pair with me & flagged down a nice CM working at WOD – I told her what I was looking for & off she went to the back storage room on a mission to find me some Pink Mickey Crocs. So, I waited….:rolleyes1 and waited….:rolleyes1 and waited some more:rolleyes1 . It probably was only a few minutes, but it felt like an eternity had passed before she came back. And what did she have in her hands…..

PINK MICKEY CROCS!!! :goodvibes :cloud9:

She actually brought up several pairs in a size Medium, she said she didn’t know why only Larges were out on display. I was SO thankful that she found them for me!!! I also got a couple of new Disney hoodies to keep warm in on the rest of our trip & that I would get a lot of wear out of back home for the Cleveland Winter. On Cloud 9 with my new Pink Mickey Crocs in a bag, we stopped in at my new favorite place to stop in at when visiting DTD – Goofy’s Candy Company! popcorn::

I just LOVE making yummy treats here to snack on & bring back to the room. Our favorite made to order items are the 3 pretzel rods – you can have each one made up with different toppings, which makes it a great deal. Hubby’s favorite treat is probably the Mickey Rice Krispie Head & I really enjoy the giant Peanut Butter filled Oreo dipped in chocolate & covered in other yummy treats. So, with a couple of tasty treats to add to our bags, we headed back to the bus stop & caught the bus back over to Caribbean Beach Resort to drop off our bags & get ready for dinner on the Boardwalk.

I decided it was chilly enough to pull on my new Pooh red fleece hoodie for the evening with my jeans and…my new Pink Crocs!! :thumbsup2 Of course, it was chilly enough that I wore socks with my Crocs. :rotfl2: We hopped a bus to Epcot & took our time strolling through Epcot & exited through the International Gateway to make our way to Spoodles for our 6 pm ADR. We tried Spoodles for the first time the previous October & really loved our meals there.

This time we weren’t on the Dining Plan, so we didn’t get as much food, but we both started our meals with a drink – hubby had a Samual Adams & I tried the Glowtini:
IMG_1885.jpg

IMG_1886.jpg

It was a fun drink & I thought it was really delicious!! It was sweet like Kool-aid & I really enjoyed it. We both had the New York Strip Steak with sweet potato fries & our meals were delicious again! (On a side note: we were really looking forward to eating here again in just a couple weeks, but after looking at the recent menu changes, I’m afraid we’ll be cancelling our ADR…there just isn’t anything on the current menu that I would eat.:sad2: )

We spent some time after dinner just relaxing on the Boardwalk & reminiscing about our recent stay there in October. We really fell in love with spending time on the Boardwalk in the evenings just people watching & relaxing on our balcony. After letting our dinner settle a bit, we started the stroll back to Epcot through the International Gateway. Epcot was open until midnight tonight with Evening Extra Magic Hours. I don’t have great notes on this evening, but I know we didn’t end up making it very late due to the combination of being too tired & too cold!

Up next, another early morning at MK & our evening plans get changed...Only 2 more full days left! :)

You must have been SOOO happy when the CM brought out your crocs! Yay!!!

You got a lot done at MK early in the morning!

Great installment. :thumbsup2

Great update! We probably passed each other that day. On Jan. 24 we did breakfast at 'Ohana then hopped over to the MK for some rides & left around 12:30 or so. Then that night we were at Epcot for EMH--only until about 10:30.

Glad you got your crocs!! Can't beat that feeling of anticipation & elation when someone goes back to find something for you & actually returns with it :cool1:

:) I've been following your pre-trip, so I'll be on the lookout for you & Dexter!

Great update!!! I love all of the character photos! :thumbsup2

:) Thanks!

Thanks for reading - we LOVE doing MK early in the morning. After getting used to doing so much with no waits, we're really not good at waiting for anything at MK. :)

How funny!! :) Yes, I was VERY excited for my Crocs!! :goodvibes

Great trip report, glad you finally got your crocs. We are going to arrive 4 days after you. The ESPN club on the boardwalk is really good if you have never tried it before, alot of options and a neat atmoshphere.

Day 9 ~ Thursday, January 25th:

With my new Pink Mickey Crocs on my feet, we were on our way to the MK for an EMH Morning. :thumbsup2 We knew we were running out of time on this trip (and at the time, we really thought we wouldn’t be returning for some time…;) ) and since the MK is still our favorite park, we were all about getting in as much time as we could there.

So, I believe it was this morning that I came up with a brilliant idea…
since we love the MK so much, we would really love to spend our last evening there. The problem was, the MK was closing early for the 2nd Pirate & Princess Party…so, we decided to splurge on tickets to another P&PP for our last evening at WDW!!! :woohoo: We were able to stop & buy our tickets on the way out of the park later in the morning & we got our AP discount on them, which also helped.

So, with this new plan, I also needed to rearrange our traditional last night ADR at Cape May Café…when I called it was no problem at all – I got us in for Thursday night at the 5:30 opening timeslot we love, so we cancelled our Friday night ADR there. :)

I believe we just grabbed breakfast at Old Port Royale back at CBR before we hit the park this morning. It was another chilly morning at the MK, so I really don’t have many pictures at all to share. :sad2: We were just running from ride to ride trying to get everything done & stay warm all at the same time!

After a couple chilly hours at the MK, and getting in all of our favorite rides, it was time to head out. We were so chilly this morning that we ended up heading back to CBR to bundle up a bit more for the rest of the day. We relaxed a bit back at the room, got more bundled up & hopped a bus over to MGM for a couple hours.

We went straight to the two big rides when we got there – there was only about a 20 minute wait for TOT, so we grabbed a FP for RNRC for later & rode hubby’s favorite ride – TOT. We also visited the Muppets again before heading out of the park. We enjoyed a quiet stroll over to Epcot for the rest of the afternoon before heading to Cape May Café at the Beach Club Resort for dinner.

IMG_1888.jpg

When we got to Epcot via the International Gateway, we heard the British Invasion playing, so we stopped over to see them again.
IMG_1889.jpg

I always lose track of how many times we end up watching these guys on our trips. We both just really love the Beatles – I grew up listening to them all the time since my parents were big fans, too. Hubby actually just recently surprised me with a framed poster of the Abbey Road album cover – my favorite Beatles album. So, we always stop to see the British Invasion during our Epcot visits as much as we can. :thumbsup2

After jamming to some tunes in the UK, we strolled thru the World Showcase a bit & ran into these guys near the US:

IMG_1891.jpg

IMG_1893.jpg

IMG_1892.jpg

It soon became time for us to walk back thru the International Gateway towards our dinnertime ADR at Cape May Café. This is one of our favorite Disney traditions – we have eaten here at least once on our nine trips together to WDW and have even enjoyed breakfasts here from time to time as well. Cape May is hubby’s opportunity to enjoy some seafood on our trip. I don’t eat ANY seafood at all, so it’s great that Cape May has such a wide variety of foods that allow hubby some seafood & me some good old American fare. And if you haven’t been to Cape May – the dessert buffet is delish!! The Oreo bon-bons are awesome!! :cloud9: We had another perfect meal here – yummy food & good service. Two thumbs up! :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

After dinner, we enjoyed a few minutes sitting on a swing on the beach at the Beach Club Resort. After our quiet stroll back over to Epcot, we walked around & enjoyed our last visit to Epcot on the trip. We got to ride Soarin’ one last time and just tried to take in all our favorite Epcot countries. It was much too chilly tonight to stick around for Illuminations, so we ended up heading back to CBR for the night.

Our last full day at the parks was tomorrow and since we had established that we would be spending our last evening at the Pirate & Princess Party, which would be a late night, we wanted to get a lot of our things packed up tonight.

Up next – our last full day at the parks including another morning at MGM & a second visit to a Pirate & Princess Party at the MK!!! princess: pirate:

That's great that you decided to do the P & P party again!

Goodness! It sounds like you were cold. It's crazy to read about how cold you were and then to read the recent TRs when it was so hot!

Great installment!

Day 10 ~ Friday, January 26th (Part 1):

We were a little sad getting up this morning knowing that it was our last full day at WDW for awhile :sad1: , but we quickly got over it & started enjoying our day. :goodvibes It was an early morning EMH at MGM this morning, so we headed straight there without any food in our bellies. (We like to do the big rides at MGM on an empty stomach. ;) )We were there just a few minutes after rope drop this morning & we headed right over to RNRC for our last ride on one of my favorite coasters for the week. We, of course, had to wait a couple extra minutes to get a ride in the first row – the absolute best way to ride RNRC. If you’ve never ridden in the front row, I highly recommend it!! :thumbsup2

After RNRC, we got one last ride in on TOT. Now, I don’t know if I’ve mentioned this before, but I didn’t used to like this ride at all really…It’s been hubby’s favorite ride for years, and I’ve always gone on it with him, but it used to scare me half to death! :scared1: LOL :rotfl2: (And I think that’s part of the reason he likes it so much – he ends up getting a good laugh when I scream & hold onto him for dear life!! Haha!) But, over the years, I have learned to really appreciate this ride. I used to get a queasy feeling after riding, but I think some of that was mental.

After these two rides, we walked down Mickey Ave to get a picture with the big cheese himself. There was nobody there!! Poor Mick was standing in the doorway just waiting for someone to come by & pay him a visit! So, we got our traditional pics taken with Mickey & I even had them take a picture with my camera phone so I can always remember our fabulous trip when I use my phone.
IMG_1894.jpg

IMG_1897.jpg

IMG_1896.jpg

MGM is actually our least favorite park these days, we can never spend an entire day there. So, after being there just the day before, we were ready to roll out & spend our last full day somewhere else. On the way out of the park, we got one of my favorite pictures of the trip:

IMG_1901.jpg

IMG_1900.jpg

IMG_1899.jpg

We decided to head straight from MGM to AK for another visit with the Yeti! On our way into the park, we ran into one of the bears from Brother Bear! I’d never gotten my picture with them before & I love the movie, so I was excited!
IMG_1902.jpg

Expedition Everest has really become one of our favorite rides, if not the number one ride for us. :thumbsup2 We just have such a good time on this one & end up laughing every time we see that Yeti on the ride!

We ended up grabbing FP’s for a visit with the Yeti a little later & went over to ride Dinosaur. This is another great one for us – it seemed to have more technical difficulties this trip than before for some reason. We ended up being stopped in complete darkness for a minute or so (which really seemed like A LOT longer than it probably really was :scared1: ) with all of the Dinosaur noises still blaring all around us. We had a couple of freaked out kids in our truck, for sure.

After Dinosaur, we decided we were getting hungry & we headed over to Flame Tree BBQ for another yummy meal! This is one of our favorite counter service meals at all of WDW. We both got the pulled pork sandwiches with beans & corn & split a basket of French fries since we were in the mood for them. Flame Tree also has some great seating back behind the restaurant with perfect views of Expedition Everest. During this meal, we ended up with some obnoxious teenage boys sitting near us giving entire rib bones to the birds which really upset me. :sad2:  These birds were really fighting each other for the food & trying to swallow these massive bones whole…not good. They finally realized this wasn’t a good idea, and stopped giving them bones.

After lunch, it was about time for our Yeti FP, so we headed over & enjoyed our final meeting with the Yeti on this trip. Another great ride down – our final full park day was very successful so far. We had already spent a lot of time at AK on this trip, so we decided to head back to CBR for a couple hours to finish packing more stuff, find out how to get our boarding passes printed for the next day & get well rested for another late night with Pirates & Princesses at the MK.
