Starting 2007 Off Right - Final Day is Up!!! Pg 16!

Well, just a quick update from me....

We had what we thought was a very productive & exciting 4th of July - we accepted an offer on our house & found out we had to be out within 3 weeks! :scared1: We spent a couple days looking at dozens of houses & found one we really liked & had our offer on it accepted Monday morning. We spent 2 days packing up boxes at home like crazy.

Then....I get the call last night....our buyer's financing fell thru. They were "pre-approved" so we were told & it takes a week for us to find out that they aren't really approved - something about them working for cash under the table & not filing taxes in several years since they are claiming no income. So, basically no bank will touch them.

So, now we've been screwed over twice in trying to sell our house & now the people we bought from are losing their deal as well. It's just amazing to me the amount of people that are getting the short end of the stick here & that signed contracts & pre-approvals mean nothing these days. I am really just at a loss for words over this whole thing & am not sure what to do about it anymore. We are likely taking our house off the market until next year to possibly try this fun again. We just can't take this stress right now...I'm REALLY just looking forward to our Disney trip next month after all this!!!

I hope to finish up our next installment soon - just wanted to keep you all posted with why I haven't updated. :sad1:

Wow...I'm so sorry to hear about the situation with the house. Hopefully things will start looking up...here's some pixie dust for you! pixiedust: At least you have something great to look forward to...a Disney trip! That ALWAYS helps to ease some of the pain...

I'm so sorry about all that house business. That is really horrible. What a let down. I think it means that next time you are looking for a house to buy, you are going to find your dream home. Then you'll be happy this one didn't go through.

It is definitely a good thing that you have Disney to look forward to!

OMGosh! That is horrible. :sad2: I guess pre-approved doesn't really mean they are approved. I was under the same impression as you.

What makes it worse is that you already found a house...I'm sorry. :sad1: I know how exciting it is to find a house you love. And all the packing! You two really deserve a break.

Just think, only WEEKS now until your trip. :)

Oh no! I'm sorry to hear about that!

Are you buying tickets for the YMCA dream home this year? I hear it's really beautiful and I hope to go see it... it's right off Lost Nation!

Hey Dawn :wave2: I just got all caught up on your report and I love it! Your pictures are great and you two are too cute together :goodvibes I love the pictures from the Pirate and Princess Party. It's running during our stay but we decided not to go. Now I'm rethinking that decision! The parade looks so nice, I'd love to see it. Maybe we'll splurge and just get the tickets! :rotfl2: Anyway, keep up the great work. I'm looking forward to another update!

Sorry to hear about the house troubles--that is such a pain. I've been trying to keep up with your TR & Pre-TR. We were there the same time this past January.

Thanks! :goodvibes We decided to treat ourselves & we are now upgraded to the WL for our upcoming trip!! :cloud9:

Thanks - I've had a lot of people say the very same thing...I do hope it means we'll find our dream house! LOL ;)

Thanks :goodvibes Down to 41 Days this morning!! The packing really stinks - I spent a good part of yesterday unpacking the things I packed up last weekend. I finally have my kitchen back in order at least.

We weren't sure how we would like it, but we ended up LOVING the party!! If nothing else, it gave us another evening in the MK. But, the parade & fireworks were really some of the best we've seen. :thumbsup2

Thanks for following along - too funny! Looks like we were there the same time in Janaury & will be overlapping again this Fall! ;)

Day 7 ~ Tuesday, January 23, 2007:
Well, after our late night out the evening before, we slept in without any wake-up call this morning. It was an EMH at Epcot this morning, but that is really the one park we never do the Morning EMH for since there are only a couple rides to do that early & the World Showcase doesn’t open til 11 am. Epcot is traditionally an evening park for us.

We “slept-in” until about 8 am & both got up & got showered & went over to Old Port Royale for breakfast. We noticed on our hike over the bridge how nippy it had gotten overnight – I think the rainstorm we had overnight brought a cold front with it. :sad2: We both enjoyed our standard food court breakfast – I believe I had some yummy waffles & hubby had a breakfast burrito of some sort. Food was good & we got our Diet Cokes in our refillable mugs to start the day off right! :yay:

Now, originally I scheduled this day as our relaxing at the Resort/swimming day….the cold weather quickly changed those plans. So, we decided to head back over to Animal Kingdom for lack of a better plan.

For some reason (maybe the chilly weather had something to do with it) I really don’t have very many pictures of this day. I know we had our run-ins with the Yeti & we also made it on the Safari:

This was the morning that Dinosaur was down for some reason, we checked back a couple times, but the CM’s didn’t know when/if it would be back up today. :sad1: So, on our way out of Animal Kingdom, I spotted a woman with the coveted…Pink Mickey Crocs on!!! I caught up to her & asked her where she got them!! (Please tell me you found them here somewhere – Please!!:scared: ) She was very nice, but unfortunately she told me that her DH bought them for her before the trip. She did tell me however that she saw a huge display of them at POP Century’s gift shop! What?! :scared1: They get them in stock just two days after we check out!! LOL :rotfl:

So, we really didn’t have much else planned for the afternoon, so when we saw a bus boarding at AK heading to POP Century we ran & hopped on! I saw Pink Mickey Crocs in my future after all!! :cloud9:

Now, we arrived back at POP Century & I booked it into the gift shop. I got SO excited when I saw my Pink Mickey Crocs!!! That is until….I started looking for my size….Yep – you guessed it – no size 8!!!! They only had a couple pairs & they were all much too large for me. I flagged down a CM working the shop & he went & looked in the back, but came back out unsuccessful. :sad1:

So, with a broken heart, we hopped on the first bus to come to POP – the bus to MGM where we switched busses to get back to Caribbean Beach Resort. Once back at our room we put on warmer clothes – long sleeves & long pants for our afternoon/evening strolling the parks.

After a bit of relaxing & getting changed, we were heading back over to MGM. The biggest reason we headed to MGM today in my planning is because it is the first day Rock-n-Roller Coaster was opening back up!!! :cool1: Yipee!! It’s my favorite ride at MGM, so we were very excited to ride it again – we, of course, waited for a seat in the first row for our first ride of the trip on RNRC. It is by far the best seat you can have on this ride!! :thumbsup2 I know Tower of Terror was another must this afternoon & we successfully got both rides in without waiting too long, before our upcoming dinner.

We had a 3:30 ADR at Hollywood & Vine – which was somewhat new for us. We used to eat there frequently for an early lunch when they used to have Minnie, Goofy, Pluto, Chip & Dale there for a character breakfast & lunch a couple years back. We had heard some good things about it from friends & since we used to enjoy the food there, we decided to give it a try this trip. Most of my food was pretty good – but, it just wasn’t anything special. Not really sure how to explain it, but we’re just not in a hurry to go back. It wasn’t great & it wasn’t awful, but just not a memorable meal for us. I do know that our server stunk, so that may have been part of our problem – LOL I think my favorite part was the make your own sundae bar. :rolleyes1

We had already spent quite a bit of time at this park, so we quickly realized that there was no way we wanted to stay here tonight for the Evening EMH. After dinner we went over & did the animation tour – I just love this tour & I Love the drawing portion that you can participate in at the end of the tour. It is always so much fun! I think this day we got to draw Goofy which was a new one for us & hubby’s favorite character! :goodvibes

We decided after that to head over to Epcot for the evening – it really is our favorite place to spend the evenings.

Since we had our drawings in hand & we were heading back to Epcot, we ended up stopping back in the room again before heading to Epcot. We put our pictures there for safe keeping & grabbed our half yards from the other night – they are cheaper to get refilled after all!! :thumbsup2

So, with our full bellys, we went & got fastpasses for Soarin’ & went to check out the wait for Test Track. I believe it was at least 45 minutes, so we definitely didn’t want to wait it out. Pretty soon we ended up heading over the World Showcase – I know we headed over to the Rose & Crown & saw the British Invasion again. :) We knew we were running out of time to see them at this point in the trip. Of course, we both got a refill on our half yards before the show. I had really wanted a margarita in Mexico – but, it was just to darn cold to think about drinking something frozen!! :scared1:

After the show & our drinks were finished, we wandered into the stores in England. Hubby ended up finding the Rose & Crown t-shirt he’d been eyeing for a year or two on clearance!! They were only $9.99 now!! So, since it was a tradition of his for him & his Dad to enjoy a drink at the Rose & Crown we got one for his Dad, too. (We always get my in-laws something from WDW as a thank you for watching our “furry” children for us during our trips.)

We just happened to be standing there when some of my favorite furry characters wandered in! We were first in line:

I really don’t have good notes for the rest of the evening. I know that we just ended up taking it easy around the “World” that night. We were still tired from our late night out the day before & we were just enjoying each other’s company & trying to take in all the sights and sounds around the World Showcase. :cloud9: We didn’t stay out very late this evening – again when we got back over to the room, nobody felt like taking the hike over to get our mugs refilled. Luckily, we still had some water & pop in our fridge from the day before. ;)

We were to bed early this night in preparation for another big day at Disney – only 3 full days left!!

Sorry about the pink disney crocs. Those things are hard to find! They would have gone perfectly with your outfit that day too!

Sorry about the cold weather, but it seems like you two had fun anyway.

Thanks for another great installment.

I have really enjoyed your trip report and can't wait to hear all about your last few days there. Not much longer and you guys will be back :)

Another great update. So sorry about the loan falling through on your house. Here in our state they require a buyer to lay down ernest money when buying a house. If the deal falls through than the potentail buyer loses their ernest money. It helps eliminate what you are going through with your house. Don't worry it will all work out. :)

Yea! I'm so excited for you...we stayed at the WL a couple of years ago and loved it! :goodvibes

Another great installment...sorry you didn't find your pink crocs...

Thanks - I just know we'll love it, too! :goodvibes

Thanks for reading...and don't worry, there are still a couple more days for pink Mickey croc hunting! :lmao:

Thanks - we're down to 39 days!!!

Thanks for the info - we actually were told there was earnest money on the table, but it turns out, it was only a "note" and no check was ever turned in. ;)

Thanks to everyone for reading along - just wanted to give you an update on our "life" this week....

Life is really funny sometimes... It really is amazing how you make plans & everything changes. Well, I won't go into too much background since it's already here...you all know about my house selling/buying disasters of the past.

Over the weekend we came to terms with what had happened & started moving forward. I unpacked a bunch of boxes & got my kitchen & living room back in order so that things seemed more normal. :thumbsup2 So, after work on Monday, I met my hubby over at our storage unit & we both filled our Jeeps to the roof with boxes of "stuff" that we were going to bring back home since the house was coming off the market soon. With a Jeep full of boxes on the freeway home, my cell rings...

It's our realtor calling me from her vacation in South Carolina...apparently she got a phone call that afternoon from a lender trying to put together a deal on our house. After everything we've gone through, the people wanting to buy our house finally decided that they could put the financing in his name instead of hers & he's been approved for more than she was in the first place!!! :scared1: Now, why they didn't think of this over a week ago, I really don't know... :rolleyes1

So, I called my hubby - who was in his Jeep behind me on the freeway - and told him the news. After much discussion about the possibility of just telling these people what they could do with their offer :lmao: ...we agreed that we really don't want to go through all of this again next year if we don't have to. So, we went up & signed a new contract with new buyer info, found out the house we were set to buy was still technically "ours" since the sellers hadn't signed our release yet (they've been out of town) & now have about 2 weeks to be moved out of our house!!! :scared1: :woohoo:

It's all SO crazy, and we are still SO leary of being happy after being burned twice. Hopefully, as they say, 3rd time will be a charm! :goodvibes I was packing boxes like a fiend until 10 pm last night when hubby got home from work & we'll be packing more tonight. I'm going to have to track these people down if I have to unpack these boxes again at my current house!! :rotfl2:

So, of course, this all happens within 2 days of me calling & upgrading us to the WL for the trip! We talked about trying to call back & drop back down to POP...but I doubt they would even have a room left since I keep reading about it being booked up during free dining, and we decided we really just want to stay at the WL this time. ;) Originally, when we upgraded, we didn't think we were moving for at least 6-8 months, so we had some more money to spare. So, things may be tight for the next couple months, but we'll have to make it work! :)

Oh, and we're down to 39 days!!!!

I will really try to update again soon, but not sure how often I'll get on between now & my moving date...7/31! :)

Glad to hear your good news about the house situation!

After all the ups and downs, I think a nice upgrade to WL is perfect!
Good for you!

Here's some pixie dust to bring good luck and happy travels :tink:

Oh, and we're down to 39 days!!!!

I haven't had time to post to you here on your TR lately but I have been reading along and I was actually thinking about your situation the other day when a friend of mine told me she went through something similar when she was buying her condo. And I thought to myself... wow that is a very emotional process! And then I remembered your TR and thought to myself I sure hope they never have to go through that a second time! And here you are- with everything out for the best! That deserves some dancing bananas...

And some more for having under 40 days until WDW...

And some more because I leave for Disney on Sunday!

Congrats. I will keep my fingers crossed for you that everything works out just perfect!

Congrats on the house!! What a roller coaster that can be. I hope all goes smoothly for you from here.

That upgrade to WL will be well worth it. You'll love it!!

I LOVE YOUR TR!!! SO many pics (just what I like) and I love reading about the P&PP! We will be going next month and it is nice seeing such vivid photos of the happenings ;)
