Starting 2007 Off Right - Final Day is Up!!! Pg 16!

After we got all “Pirated” up for the Party (I bought my special pink Mickey Pirate ears just for the party!) we hopped a bus to the Magic Kingdom. We had a 4 pm ADR at Liberty Tree Tavern for a meal fit for a pirate: ! This restaurant has become a must-do tradition for us every trip. We’ve yet to have a bad meal here (knock-on wood ;) ) & the character interaction there is some of the best we’ve had (I REALLY recommend going right at opening before the restaurant is full for the best interaction.) This night was definitely no different – delicious food & fun characters. :thumbsup2

Does this happen to anyone else with Pluto's whiskers?! LOL:

After our 4 pm dinner, we still had a couple hours to kill before the pillaging would begin. pirate: We walked back up Main Street & saw them setting up some of the special banners/effects for the party. This was actually the Premier Night for this party, so we hadn’t heard much about it, but after the wonderful time we had during MNSSHP in October, we were very excited to attend!

IMG_1764.jpg

When we walked down by the castle to get our wristbands, treasure maps & black velvety “treasure” bags for the party, they had this set-up for pictures:

IMG_1775.jpg

Walking along Adventureland, they had these huge skulls set-up:
IMG_1777.jpg

We took a picture of each of us by one & one of the Disney Dream Team members saw us & came over to take a picture of both of us by one. It was very sweet, but you should’ve heard my heart pounding!!! LOL I SO wanted to get some cool wish granted, but alas, she was just being a kind Disney CM taking our picture.

We got on several rides before the party since we figured that once the party actually started, there’d be so much going on that we wouldn’t really spend much time on the rides. As we are walking out of Pirates, we realize…it is POURING!!! :scared1: Now, we both watched the weather forecast numerous times in the room that afternoon & Mr. Weatherman had assured us that all rain showers had moved past. :sad2: Being that it was January, rain isn’t really all that frequent – not like the daily storms in September that we’re used to. So, needless to say we left our Mickey Ponchos in the room for the evening…

We tried to wait out the rain for awhile in the Pirates shop (along with hundreds of other people with the same idea  ) but decided it was worth the few bucks to buy yet another set of Mickey ponchos & start enjoying the Party. One of the coolest things about the special event parties are all the fun characters you can get your picture with. At the Pirate & Princess Party, most of the characters are dressed up as…you guessed it…Pirates or Princesses! Over in Adventureland near the Magic Carpet ride we ran into Aladdin, Genie & Abu (who I’d never seen before!):
IMG_1781.jpg

We ran into this guy on the bridge in Frontierland:
IMG_1780.jpg

All over the park, there were reflections on the ground – over in Adventureland they were all Pirate themed, skulls & treasure maps, etc. & in Fantasyland they had Princess tiaras, roses, etc. Over in Fantasyland, they had a couple of cute topiaries set-up – like this one with Cindy:
IMG_1782.jpg

And then there was a line to get your picture in front of Cinderella’s carriage – it was beautiful with all the pumpkins in front (notice how wet the ground is here!):
IMG_1783.jpg

Over in Fantasyland (near Ariel’s Grotto) they had one of two dance parties for the younguns – we just got the biggest kick out of Flounder on the dance floor!!
IMG_1787.jpg

Chip & Dale (rotating with Stitch) were heading up the dance party in Tomorrowland at Cosmic Ray’s:
IMG_1795.jpg

As we were on our way over to Toontown, we saw this cute little set-up with a dressing mirror, etc. Just as we were wondering what exactly it was for – here comes Belle in her yellow dress!! We were the first ones to see her & oh my did the line get long after that!!
IMG_1796.jpg

Thankfully, the rain really didn’t last long – just enough for us to be a bit wet & have to spend money on ponchos & then drag them around all night. We were SO excited when we ran into these guys over in Toontown – just LOVED their outfits!!
IMG_1790.jpg

IMG_1791.jpg

Now, on our way over towards the castle in time to see the fireworks, we spotted Pocohontas, John Smith & Meeko – we ran over & were told that we couldn’t get our pictures with them. OK, no biggie. Then the CM working there proceeded to take several pictures with them & then they finally went in for a break. It was just really odd, I guess. I mean we were literally the only people there – there was no big line-up there or anything – what was one more picture going to hurt?!
IMG_1797.jpg

Anyways, Meeko stuck around & we had some fun with him. He was really interested in my treasure & all I had gotten so far was my beads & some raisins. To be funny, I offered Meeko my raisins & he went nuts!! LOL He happily took those raisins from me & proceeded to dance around hugging the raisins to his heart. Too funny!
IMG_1799.jpg

A blurry Meeko enjoying his raisins-LOL:
IMG_1801.jpg

Going around the park to collect your “treasure” was fun at the party, but really didn’t compare to MNSSHP in the way of goodies. The only things we saw handed out were about 6 different colored strands of beads & then gold chocolate coins (treasure) & some raisins. The candy was much better at MNSSHP, so we just learned not to spend much time waiting in a line for “treasure” at this party. No big loss there.

Now, I don’t really have any pictures of the fireworks during the Pirate & Princess Party, but I must say…these were the BEST fireworks we have seen. Now, I was in love with the MNSSHP fireworks, but these fireworks were just AWESOME!!! I was just enjoying them so much that I didn’t take the time to take any pictures. If you have the opportunity to see these fireworks – I HIGHLY recommend them!!

Up next – the Awesome Pirate & Princess Party Parade!!!

Great update! I agree about those P&P fireworks, they were incredible!

Sorry your afternoon swim got rained out. We were at BWV the first week of February, and though the afternoons were warm, the pool water was way too cold for me! Didn't stop my kids, though!

Looking forward to more!

I love your TR! I bought the same headband from Epcot! Oh and I have the same pirate shirt too! :goodvibes

I can't believe you are going back again in the same year, lucky you! We are happy to go once every year! .

I feel like I'm reliving our pre-children Disney days through your TR. Sounds and looks like you had an excellent time. Looking forward to another installment.

The P'n'P party looks like so much fun! I would love to get a picture in front of Cinderella's carriage.

Sorry about the swim. That is always hard when you are looking at a pool and can't swim in it!

Don't you just love the whole poncho thing! I remember when I worked there, people would buy the ponchos and then when we were cleaning up at night we would see *so* many disgarded because people didn't want to carry them around.

:goodvibes Yep - we LOVED those fireworks!! The Halloween & Christmas ones are also spectacular, but these were just really enjoyable for some reason. That cold water never seems to stop the kiddies! Unfortunately, my hubby really wants the water warm or he won't go in - I'm not as bad about it, but it's not much fun going by yourself. ;)

 Too funny! I love that headband & will probably get another one this trip, too! :thumbsup2 Trust me, we are definitely surprised to be going back so soon again, but with the AP's & a stressful year, it's exactly what the doctor ordered! ;)

Thanks! :goodvibes Coming right up! :)

We've seen the carriage a couple of other times, too - I'm wanting to say it was also out at MNSSHP & MVMCP, too! :) Not us! We had a set of ponchos that lasted us thru 3-4 trips! Now, I think we have 2 sets at home, so we'll bring one set with us in August. We usually just get a bag from a gift shop to fold them into & carry them around - no biggie! :)

Well, I have LOTS of parade pictures to share with you all! I just have to preface all of these pictures with my comments on just how awesome we thought this parade was! I honestly think this was our favorite parade ever – it just had so many cool features!! :goodvibes

This parade starts out with knights riding down the street on horses – also all dressed up for the Party (I just loved seeing live horses in this parade!!)

IMG_1808.jpg

IMG_1809.jpg

IMG_1811.jpg

Following the knights & horses, came Snow White & her Prince in a horse-drawn carriage:

IMG_1812.jpg

IMG_1813.jpg

IMG_1815.jpg

Aurora & her Prince in dancing by in a gazebo:

IMG_1816.jpg

IMG_1818.jpg

Many dancers in ballgowns came down the street just before Cinderella & her Prince – and don’t forget her Fairy Godmother!

IMG_1821.jpg

IMG_1822.jpg

Belle & her Beast:

IMG_1824.jpg

Not sure what to call them (reminded me of Ninjas – LOL) just ahead of Aladdin & Jasmine – they both rode through the parade route on horseback – awesome!! :thumbsup2

IMG_1826.jpg

IMG_1827.jpg

Several scary looking dudes before the big Pirate ship featured in the parade:

IMG_1835.jpg

IMG_1836.jpg

IMG_1837.jpg

Peter Pan, Wendy & even Tink!

More knights were featured before the big float at the end of the parade that featured: Mickey, Minnie, Pluto, Goofy, Donald & Daisy:

IMG_1843.jpg

IMG_1845.jpg

IMG_1849.jpg

After this fantastic parade, we decided to run back over to Toontown & get a pic of Minnie & Daisy all dolled up in their Princess gear! Minnie was just beautiful – when we went to see Mickey earlier in the evening he was telling us how we really needed to go & see Minnie tonight. It was too cute! :goodvibes So, when we got over to see Minnie we were telling here how Mickey told us all about her & how good Mickey looked that night, too. She acted all embarrassed & lovey dovey over Mickey – it was the cutest!!

IMG_1852.jpg

Then, we got pics with Aurora & her Prince (sidenote: hubby got a kick out of his tights – LOL):

IMG_1851.jpg

Then…on to Daisy. She had a definite thing for my hubby!! It was too funny & the Photopass Photographer actually captured some of it on our camera for us! I think he was a tad embarrassed by this, but enjoyed telling the story later on. ;)

IMG_1853.jpg

IMG_1854.jpg

IMG_1855.jpg

We strolled back over towards Adventureland after that – I had heard that Captain Jack Sparrow was there to take pictures, but the line was over an hour long at this point  (and throughout the night as we kept checking back.) As we were walking around, it started to get a bit drizzly again on us (guess I remembered incorrectly when I mentioned earlier that we didn’t use those ponchos the rest of the night! LOL) Anyways, we ran into this Camel over by Aladdin’s ride:

IMG_1850.jpg

I don’t know why (maybe a mixture of exhaustion & too much sugar) but, we just found this Camel hilarious! :rotfl2: She walked really funny (which was definitely part of it) but, she was just too funny walking around in the rain!!

We were actually at this party until about 12:15 (it was slated to end around 12:30) so, I thought we did pretty good!! We got almost everything in that we wanted to do & had a really great time at the party. We would definitely be sleeping in a bit the next day!! LOL

Ending this day – here’s a self portrait of us – a tad wet at the end of the night:

IMG_1802.jpg

Since it was pouring by the time we got back to the room & the food court had long since closed, we ended up getting some bottled water/pop & kept it in our fridge. This would become a pattern (nobody wanting to walk over to refill the mugs) throughout the rest of our stay at CBR....

I'm finally reading your trip report and just had to tell you...I have the same park-touring style as you! I love to go early, do lots, skip parades, go to hotel and swim, then go to another park at night. Okay, back to the report.

Well, just a quick update from me....

We had what we thought was a very productive & exciting 4th of July - we accepted an offer on our house & found out we had to be out within 3 weeks! :scared1: We spent a couple days looking at dozens of houses & found one we really liked & had our offer on it accepted Monday morning. We spent 2 days packing up boxes at home like crazy.

Then....I get the call last night....our buyer's financing fell thru. They were "pre-approved" so we were told & it takes a week for us to find out that they aren't really approved - something about them working for cash under the table & not filing taxes in several years since they are claiming no income. So, basically no bank will touch them.

So, now we've been screwed over twice in trying to sell our house & now the people we bought from are losing their deal as well. It's just amazing to me the amount of people that are getting the short end of the stick here & that signed contracts & pre-approvals mean nothing these days. I am really just at a loss for words over this whole thing & am not sure what to do about it anymore. We are likely taking our house off the market until next year to possibly try this fun again. We just can't take this stress right now...I'm REALLY just looking forward to our Disney trip next month after all this!!!

I hope to finish up our next installment soon - just wanted to keep you all posted with why I haven't updated. :sad1:
