Today is my first day back at work & things have been very crazy, but I am working on the first installment of our trip report as we speak (just wanted to check-in & say thanks to everyone following along!) :)

Overall, we had a really great trip & it was great to spend some real quality time together, away from the real world for awhile. :thumbsup2 Stick around to hear all about our stay at POP & Caribbean Beach & our fun times at the pirate: & princess: Party (or, two...) We enjoyed some great meals & bought too many souvies!! ;)

So sorry to hear about your loss. It will get better, I promise.

Another gorgeous couple! Where do all you beautiful people come from? ;)

arizonacolbys~ We got 11.5 inches today! YEA, in 1 day!!:headache:

Emily-
I'll start by saying I hate to hear about your loss... I have a friend, 26 who went through that in May- right before Mother's day... She had a rough time getting pregnant in the first place, so it was devastating for her... Well, guess what? She just found out a month or two ago that she's pregnant again.... and this time, it's with TWINS!!!! Hopefully, you and your husband will be just as blessed... You are a beautiful couple, and I can't wait to hear all about your trip!

glad you're back, can't wait to hear about your trip!!!

Your pre-trip report is great! It is really great to see another Disney couple like my husband and I who enjoy returning to WDW year after year!

I'm looking forward to hearing about your trip and the Pirate and Princess Party. Thanks for sharing your memories with us!

:tink:

Sorry it's been so long - it's just always so hard to return to your "normal" life after a stay at the Happiest Place on Earth. ;) I wanted to start out by saying thank you to everyone for your kind words about our loss & for choosing to read my trip report. :goodvibes We had another wonderful trip & can't wait to share it with you all!!!

Weds, January 17th~

Neither one of us slept very well being that it was the night before our trip, but I jumped out of bed when the alarm went off at 5 am. After showering, getting dressed, feeding Colby & Arizona & putting all of our last minute necessities into our luggage, we were off to my mother-in-law’s to drop off our favorite furry pooches & get our ride to the airport. Now, it was a very chilly 20 degrees that morning with a couple of inches of fresh snow on the ground – which made for a very chilly start to the day. Our dogs really love staying at my in-laws (after all – they also have 2 labs for them to play with) but, they tend to get very clingy when they catch on that they’re going on a little vacation of their own. It’s really funny the things they pick up on – sometimes I think dogs are smarter than people give them credit for. ;)

We left my mother-in-law’s house by about 6:45 & got to the Cleveland International Airport by about 7:30. Thankfully, there wasn’t much of a line to check our bags, or go thru security. :thumbsup2 We had our traditional breakfast at the Airport BK & then it was about time to board! Luckily, we were flying non-stop on Continental & were due to arrive in Orlando MCO at 11:08 am.

Our flight was very uneventful – we both listened to our ipod shuffles & skimmed thru some magazines – again, we were too excited to really concentrate on anything we were reading. :woohoo: About 2 ½ hours later, we landed in cloudy Orlando. We rushed down the concourse & hopped on the airport monorail – both putting in a call to the parental units to let them know we made it safely to Florida. :goodvibes We took a slight detour over to the Crocs store at the airport because I was dying to find the pink Disney Crocs (you’ll notice this topic a lot throughout this report ;) ) but, alas, they didn’t have any Disney Crocs at all. So, off we went to the lower level to find out about our ride via Magical Express. :drive:

As you may remember, this was our first experience using Disney’s Magical Express Service & we were definitely a bit leery about it. :scared1: I must say, I really can’t give a single complaint about the trip from the airport! :thumbsup2 There was only one other family down at the DME desk & we were boarded on a bus immediately. We were lucky enough to get seats near the front of the bus (allowing for a speedy escape at the Resort ;) ) and we only sat there for about five minutes before we departed the airport. Our bus was probably only half full – one of my original concerns had been that we’d have to sit there waiting for a full bus. Luckily, POP Century was the first stop along the way!! :cool1: Our bus driver was entertaining along the way.

When we got to POP Century, around noon, we were the first ones in line to check in & there was a Cast Member available to check us in right away! :) He was originally going to put us in a room in the 50’s section, but since we had stayed in that section three times before, we requested a room in the 80’s for something different – after all, this was our 5th stay at POP Century. Our Cast Member was very helpful & worked with us while looking at the resort map to find the perfect room for us – 4th floor, 80’s section, on the end & facing the computer pool.

After getting our mugs & an icy beverage :drinking1 , we spent a few minutes just strolling thru the POP Century store. It’s always so exciting to check-in at POP and look around the store – it just feels like you’re finally at Disney World when you’re there. It’s fun to look around and ooh and ahh over all the new t-shirts and hats that we want to get. I had my first sighting of Disney Crocs at this store, but unfortunately they only had red & black ones, and I had my heart set on the pink ones.

Next, we walked thru the Resort & checked out our room. We really ended up liking this location – not too far to get mug refills & you could cut thru the parking lot to catch a bus pretty quickly. Our room was nice & clean (as usual here at POP) & we had a little towel animal dog waiting for us in our window. We noticed lots of these in the windows as we walked thru the resort. We cleaned up a little bit & got situated and decided that we would be plenty warm in our t-shirts & jeans and left our sweatshirts in the room (Hint: this will be important to remember later ;)) as we headed off to the Magic Kingdom.

Now, I wasn’t sure it was a good plan to head into the Magic Kingdom mid-day like this – but, it’s our tradition that it is always the first park we step foot in. :goodvibes We love to walk up Main Street USA & take in the castle before we do anything else on our trips.

As we were walking up Main Street there was suddenly music playing and what looked like a parade headed our way – mind you, it’s only 1 o’clock, nowhere near time for the daily parade. But, sure enough, it was the Family Parade that they now feature a couple times every day at the Magic Kingdom. The parade route was virtually empty, so we got some good parade shots:

We also stopped to get the obligatory Cinderella’s Castle shot:

We walked over to see about going on Pirates of the Caribbean & there was a wrapping line outside the building & a posted 40 minute wait!! I believe Thunder Mountain was a 50 minute wait. :scared1: The park really seemed pretty mobbed for a Wednesday afternoon in January, and after making our way thru the crowds, we ended up hopping on the monorail to Epcot to make our 2:30 ADR at Alfredo’s in Italy. :woohoo:

Great start! The castle looks soo different (we were there last April). You guys are such a cute couple! I can't wait to hear more about you trip. popcorn:: Thank you for sharing! :goodvibes jen

I never wanted a pair of Crocs til they came out with Disney ones! I thought they were ugly and I said I would never wear them. But, I hear they are pretty comfortable, now I want some!

Can't wait to hear more from your trip!
