Starter Pin Set

In 2006 we bought a starter "pin set" and traded them up for some more unique pins.

Are these starter sets available online? I would like to purchase these for Christmas (for my kids) for our upcoming Feb. trip? I can't find them anywhere.

Any thoughts?

I would definitely look on ebay too.
We bought some starter sets when we went in September. When we got back, my mom started looking on ebay for pins and was able to get a lot for 1.00 to 2.00 a pin. That's a lot cheaper than what you would buy them for at WDW. The ones she bought are going to be used specifically for trading. It's a great deal!

I agree...don't worry about official starter sets. Buy a "lot" of pins on ebay...just make sure they are official disney pins. I did that and got about 10 pins for around $3 apiece. They were nothing the kids were intersted in and were great for trading.

I agree with the others...buy on ebay! However, be sure to check your seller's auction terms and their feedback. If you get fake Disney pins, you may not be able to trade them (some CM will do it anyway but some won't). I always test my sellers with a small pin purchase before I buy a big lot. I have a wonderful ebay seller that I use pretty much exclusively now. I pay less than $2/pin. My kids love trading pins, and buying lots on ebay makes it very affordable!

You can also purchase directly from pinscheap.com by contacting them through email. I purchase 6 each for my 4 kids and we used our own lanyards. I was very happy with the pins we received from pinscheap and I made a little game of giving them to the kids before our trip.
We are not serious pin traders - just do it for fun while we are at WDW. Some days they didn't even bother to take their lanyards to the parks. It is just fun to interact with cast members and keep an eye out for a cool pin. My oldest DS14 traded all six of his several times while we were there. He also bought a couple for DD4.
