Start Time for Morning Internal Buses

We'll be arriving at the Fort this week and are planning to do the crazy early morning Animal Kingdom Flight of Passage rope drop on one of our days. It's been a couple years, but last time we were at the Fort the boats started ~ 6:45 AM and I remember seeing the 1st internal buses a bit earlier ~ 6:30 AM.

I know at the other resorts the AK buses start rolling at 6:30 AM. Do the FW internal buses still start at 6:30 AM? We'll be at a preferred site so I figure we'll either take an internal bus to the Outpost for an early AK bus, or worst case I'll do the walk over to WL where I know they have 6:30 AM buses to AK.

I would confirm with them on your arrival but I believe when we were there last year the FW internal buses were running around 6:30.

Below is from the Fort's page on the "HUB", but when it comes to bus service, there's sometimes a lot of wiggle room.

Internal Resort Transportation
A dedicated internal shuttle runs daily from 7:00am to 2:00am between all Campsite and Cabin stops, Outpost, Settlement and the Creekside Meadow. Please note that Theme Park, Water Park and Disney Springs transportation can only be accessed at the Outpost stop.

It might actually be easier to drive to the park rather than heading over to WL and going from there.

Typically I don't drive once I get to Disney, but in this case it sounds like easier option.

Unfortunately we'll have just the RV and no extra vehicle, so driving won't be an option. All of the other parks won't be too much of an issue for early mornings ... it'll just be the AK rope drop. If I hear the boat coming in before any buses at the settlement I can probably take a boat over to the Contemp and grab an early AK bus there as well. We've done that in the past to rope drop before, just never had to try and time it as early as possible.

It'll work itself out one way or another.

Ah, gotcha. You're right, it'll work its way out.
Have fun!

You can always Uber.

That might not be a bad idea - we often use Uber when visiting Florida but it never even occurred to me to use it within the park. That said, it might not be an option if DW charges them a parking fee to enter (I have no idea how they'd treat that - it might be worth calling FW to ask if they'll be allowed to come in to pick you up).

Usually we take the internal DW transportation but I believe it's a long trek from FW to AK so last year we did drive to AK to get there early.

--- Update ---

Searching the forum, it appears that rideshare drivers don't have to pay to get in (although they do have to wait to go by the tollbooths so there can be delays) so Uber / Lyft is an option.

I also forgot that DW also has the "Minnie Vans" so that's an option but they appear to be quite expensive now (based on the comments I read, I wouldn't be surprised if FW to AK is $50+)
