Start of our trip

So we left western mass at 830 this morning...Flew through new York with no traffic and into dc by 2...then wham...gps took us 295 south around dc (got to see the capital and wash monument) then hit major traffic in Va. Just got into Richmond now for dinner then 4 more hours to SC...so far so good

You must have a lot of patience to drive - that's a long haul. The 2-hour flight's long enough for me.

Just checked into the Comfort Inn Suites. Very nice room....Need sleep, long ride, but, surprisingly, NOT bad, and our 7yr old was PERFECT all the way down!!!

We will get up and leave around 8 for a day at Hilton Head...Upper 80's and sunny await us!! And, only 2 hours of driving!!

Hope your road trip is going well. I envy those of you who live on the eastern coast and can drive! We've driven from Minnesota a couple of times, but it's a LONG trip.

Judging by how much time it takes us from southernmost NY to Florence, I'd say you did well time-wise from Western Mass. It seems no matter what time of day (& night too in many cases) traffic in Va. is unavoidable ; we've done the drive so many times we don't even think about this anymore, we just expect it. Hopefully your drive to HHI this morning isn't delayed any & that you are nearly there by now, bet you are all anxious to arrive & discover everything look forward to hearing about it. Our family DVC's HHI resort we'll be staying again on drive to WDW in August along with DBro&family(1st time @ HHI for them & DNephews 7 & 11) & were thinking of MB for drive back home but we really enjoy HHI so much that we'll most likely do that again a night or 2 on way back.
