Ok this may be a really random question but is there anywhere that is really like Star's Hollow? And where was The Gilmore Girl's actually set?

First off, love love LOVE the Gilmore Girls!!!! I miss that show so much!!! The show was made in Hollywood. My brother in law works for WB doing sound stuff and my in laws were able to go out there to visit!! My mother in law SAT IN LUKES DINER! She didn't know it was going off air or she'd have gotten autographs for me. So I got a t-shirt instead.
On to your questions now. Sometimes, when I watch HGTV or some channel like that, maybe something about scenic drives... I have seen the little steeple mixed in with the orange leaves and I swear that it's stars hollow. I've even showed my mom and she thought it looked like stars hollow too. Now, is it actually the town? Doubtful. Who knows, really.
I wish they'd start the show back up and follow Rory as a grown up journalist.
I just read this port before I hit okay.... I just realized I totally sound like a 13 year old. Awesome. I have only 30 minutes for lunch at work and this is time consuming while trying to eat!!!!

Well, I think it was supposed to be CT - since Rory was able to quickly commute from Yale to Stars Hollow........

They need one reunion movie, with the original creator to finish things up. Especially since Rory left to follow Barack Obama on the campaign trail - and Lorelei needed to have a kid with Luke (ok that's my need)...... lol.......

I actually refused to watch the last season (save the last episode) because Lorelei married Christopher - that was so not in keeping with her character......

Thanks for the answers guys. I haven't actually seen much of the show, just the odd episodes here and now. I am from the UK and its relatively new to being played over here but have to admit I really like it, and it was such a shame to hear it ended. I have also heard reports the final season was not very good, which is a real shame. I plan to get the DVD's from the beginning for christmas and then I can start watching it for real.

Star's Hollow just looks so idyllic and a perfect little town. I would really love to live there. Or at least visit :rotfl:

I think you'll really like it watching it from the DVDs.......

It does look like the most perfect town......

Google is your friend ;)

The exteriors are a set on the Warner Bros. lot in Burbank, and several of the buildings were originally built for other shows, most notably the Inn, which was the Waltons home, and several which originally were used in The Dukes of Hazzard.

The inspiration for the town square was the village of Washington Depot, CT.

I've been looking for Star's Hollow for years now, and I've never found it. We have a little town here near where I work called New Town, and we took a tour a while back to see if we wanted to live there. It felt like they were doing their best to recreate the look of a Star's Hollow type place, but it just didn't have that "feeling". It was made to look old, but it just felt too new. And the people who lived there already weren't really as friendly as one would hope for a Star's Hollow community.
Here's the webpage for New Town so you can get a feel for what I'm talking about:

We're going to keep looking for Star's Hollow though. We're determined to find a place like it! :thumbsup2

And as for the show, I agree! I would LOVE to see them return to the story with Rory all grown up. I miss Gilmore Girls still!!

I was just talking to my DD's about this show the other day. We really miss it too. :sad1:

We went and did the WB studio tour twice- and the last time we went they were actually filming the finale and got to see some of the stars :)

The town is there, where they have the gazebo and whatnot. it was a lot of fun to see!

I don't know where it is, but boy do I want to live there!

Well that's interesting. I have all three shows on DVD and I never noticed:rotfl:

Very cool town. That is exactly what DH and I are looking for. We were looking at Birkdale in North Carolina but it looks like we are moving to Cincinnati instead.

I would love Stars Hollow. There are some towns here in CT that come close, but reality is not as good as fiction.

Love the house. I have always wanted a B & B but I don't think DH would like it, he's not a people person. We have a house here in town that is being converted into a B & B, it is gorgeous! I actually wanted to buy it and the price was right but it needed about 300,000 in additional work which was way more then I could spend.

DD and I toured the set during a tour of WB Studio about three years ago. It was very cool. It was all decorated for fall at the time. It really did remind me of a small town.

Here is a picture I took.

For anyone interested, Amazon had season DVDs for $15 the other day. I saw the deal on slickdeals and bought Season 5 for DD for Xmas -- we loved watching this show together.
