Starbucks lingo

So I guess I'm the only one who just let's her son order for her, because she's too lazy to remember all of this stuff?

I get completely intimidated, unless it's a frozen drink. And I'm still bummed they no longer have the pomegranate frappucino, and that they now use that fake tasting strawberry sauce for their strawberries and cream frappucino.

Other than that, I stand there clueless. So thanks for tutorial!

lol My mom does has me do that. She says I want that vanilla thing I like. Then I have to order it for her.

My mom does that too!! She actually doesn't like Starbucks cause it's too dark...I might try some of the tips for a less dark tasting coffee for her!!

She did order a small one time and the person kinda chewed her out for it...I was super surprised because they're not supposed to do that and they had never done it to me before!!

I order a grande whatever or a venti whatever because I'm used to it. But sometimes (at my college they serve Starbucks and you need to say small, medium, etc.) I order a small or medium!! They understand, I promise!! lol

To the person with a beef against the tea: I get a Tazo black tea lemonade with raspberry syrup!! It's like heaven in a plastic cup!!! :D Try it sometime!!

I love Starbucks not because I want to feel "cool" because I drink it but because I genuinely like the drinks! My sis always gets something besides what I order and then tastes mine and says "You know how to get good stuff!! I need to order what you do!!" No, I just go there a lot so I know what's good!! lol

Half caf, skinny vanilla, grande...etc. I don't speak Starbucks!:crazy2: Is there a quick course We can take prior to entering the Magic Kingdom? ;) All we want is a decent cup of coffee but we don't want to sound stupid doing it. pirate: (posted just for fun)

Hahahahah!

It would actually be:

GRANDE (size first)

1/2 caf (caffeine strength 2nd)

Skinny vanilla latte ( skinny referring to skim milk and sugar free syrups)

I'm sure this has been said in 7 pages of comments several times, but if you want a decent cup of coffee, Starbucks is not the place to find it :)

Overpriced and just tastes burnt.

Probably not a lot of choice, but find a Dunkins :)

This is a personal preference. To me, I love the Starbucks coffee taste and I've throw out 3 cups of Dunkin Donuts coffee because it tastes absolutely terrible to me! To each their own.

As a Seattleite myself, I always love a good Starbucks message board discussion :goodvibes

Triple grande extra hot skinny vanilla latte with one pump of raspberry for me, please!
:coffee:

As much as I would prefer a Dunkin, Starbucks has soy and Dunkin doesn't. Due to allergies choice made for me.

Another person unfortunately under the impression that Starbucks coffee is more expensive than Dunkin. It's within 10 cents of eachother, I am in the car all day, I do sales for a living and regularly am in about 10 Dunkins and 10 Starbucks within my sales territory within any given week. Sometimes Dunkin is MORE expensive.

I said before that I worked at Starbucks for 5 years, and I also LOVE Dunkins regular coffee, iced or hot. (Nothing beats a dunkin iced coffee
With cream and sugar!!!). Much more than Starbucks. However in my opinion Dunkins other drinks do not even compare to Starbucks quality or taste wise. Lattes, Cappuccinos, Frapuccinos, Hot chocolate, Starbucks is definitely better, mostly because I think they have much better syrups and fresher ingredients.

Starbucks hot chocolate is made with real chocolate, steamed milk, and homemade whipped cream. Dunkin is obviously just a powder. Same with chai. Starbucks is real liquid tea concentrate, Dunkin is a powder. The dunkin equilivent of a frapuccino (cant remember what they are called, coolata??? Tastes like a way pre-made gas station type slushie... Just doesn't compare if you really know what the better ingredients are like!

That's where the ghetto latte comes in (google it). I wouldn't recommend it. I can't imagine it tastes as good as the real thing.

I'm sure all the folks who feel justified in making themselves free salads from the fixins bar at Pecos Bill will be doing that...;)

No, this I know.... male or female Barista is the Italian word for bartender: serving drinks of all kinds including coffee.

Me I'll stick with McDonald's fresh roasted $1.00 any size

Thanks. I didn't know that, and it sure LOOKS like a feminine form. Ya learn something every day! :thumbsup2

But it's worlds better than Nescafe. And obviously S was able to fit Disney's needs while D couldn't or didn't try (or wasn't asked). I personally would take a coffee from S over DD any day, as DD is bad to me. But I drink lattes, not drip coffee at S; if I want drip I'll make my own at home! And it's HARD to mess up an iced latte.

I did google ghetto latte. I used to be a server at a higher end restaurant and people would make ghetto lemonade. They'd ask for water with extra lemons and then use the sweetener packets to make their own freshly squeezed lemonade.
Ok, back to coffee talk.

I wonder how they are fooling enough people into buying bad coffee in over 21,000 locations?

It's a conundrum wrapped in a riddle.

Vinte, iced, non fat caramel macchiato, upside down=

Large iced coffee with caramel with the expresso shots (3) on the bottom and FF milk on top. That's all I ever order.....
