Starbucks in DHS

I can think of several other places to put a *$ (preferably in Universal) but why not near Staring Rolls? I was thinking the Writers Stop location would be the target.

Plus several Joffrey's specialty coffee stands have popped at DHS. The coffee was not bad. Better than Starbucks.

It seems to me that Starbucks and Starring Rolls are too similar.

Writer's Stop seems logical, but I'm sure Sbux wanted premium real estate, hence the MSB location in MK and the plaza location in Epcot.

DHS has always been one of the places I never fretted about coffee, since it was easy enough to get a decent cup at Starring Rolls.

Pete posted in facebook that he was less then pleased and I agree.

Heres why:

The coffee in disney world in general was atrocious. Their deciding to simply add starbucks is just lazy and cash grabbing. Easier to just have a company pay them to bring better quality coffee into their parks then to actually go out of their way to bring the coffee and have to pay for it themselves.

Heres the main reason starbucks in the parks, imo, is a terrible idea.

It takes away from the story. What story?
Well isn't the whole reason we fell in Disney World was because it took us away from the real world and put us in this fairytale land?
I know thats what it does for me.

Now starbucks comes along. Starbucks is text book capitalism (not a bad thing btw at all) and a mega brand name. By having this mega brand name commercial machine that we see on every corner now being placed in the parks we are immediately ripped away from our fantasy experience and reminded of the world we left.

I'd rather leave that world behind.

Also am fully aware of the various product placements in the park. Starbucks for me is just glaring on a whole other magnitude.

We've had this conversation before. I can't see the distinction between Starbucks and any other mega brand already in the park.

I get it that some folks don't like Starbucks and that others find the expense not work the cost (though Joffrey's coffee, per pound, is no cheaper than Starbucks). To me, that isn't relevant to the current discussion anymore than that I prefer Starbucks over most any other coffee.

As Jack pointed out - the *$ presence in the parks shouldn't offend people. There have always been other companies in the parks going all the way back to July 17, 1955.

Lol. The nearest Starbucks to me is over 25 miles away, so, it would not be bringing in the outside world to me. Of course I live in the boonies.

If it were a Dunkin on the other hand...

Pete needs to get over that issue. A year ago it was entertaining. Now he just sounds cranky (love ya Pete!)

bring back the Wizard of Bras. They're ruining the magic without it.

Losing the Writers Stop would sadden me greatly. It's one of my favorite places in all of the parks.
